Legacy Capital Services provides comprehensive administrative and logistical support to national law firms specializing in legal debt dispute and resolution, with a focus on violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Truth in Lending Act, and the Credit Card Act of 2009.

The law firms we support manage a broad range of account types, including credit cards, department store accounts, personal loans, medical bills, auto loans, payday loans, private student loans, business invoices, timeshares, solar panels, summons, active lawsuits, judgments, and more.

Job Summary

The Director of Accounting will lead the financial operations for Legacy Capital Services with an emphasis on accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. This individual will oversee the accounting team, manage systems and workflows, monitor financial trends, and ensure adherence to all regulatory and financial standards.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who is tech-savvy, data-driven, and passionate about leading and developing high-performing teams.

Leadership & Strategy Responsibilities

  • Recommend process improvements and best practices for billing and payment workflows.
  • Design and maintain scalable processes specifically for commission tracking and affiliate payment operations.
  • Lead, coach, and develop accounting staff, fostering a culture of accountability and professional growth.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Manage client billing for debt resolution services.
  • Supervise payment processing staff to ensure timely payments and follow-ups on failed transactions.
  • Answer internal and external inquiries related to affiliate commission payments, calculations, and structures.
  • Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies or commission-related issues.
  • Monitor and track refunds issued to clients, ensuring accurate reporting and reconciliation.
  • Develop and maintain processes for identifying and escalating payment issues.
  • Serve as a liaison between the accounting department and other internal teams, including Legal, Client Care, and Sales.
  • Work cross-functionally to identify and implement solutions to client-facing financial concerns.
  • Create and analyze weekly and monthly revenue reports.
  • Support the preparation of financial statements, reconciliations, and other financial reports.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in financial services or legal environments.
  • At least 2+ years managing a team.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with Salesforce is preferred but not required.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and reconciliations.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality with sensitive financial data.

Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
