DEPARTMENT: Academics LOCATION: Great Hearts San Antonio Regional Office and North Texas Home Offices – Texas REPORTS TO: Executive Director, San Antonio Position Summary : The Network Director of Academic Interventions will lead the development and execution of a comprehensive instructional support strategy across its growing network of schools. This role is responsible for driving student achievement through targeted school support, intervention best practices, and instructional leadership development. As a key member of the Academic Services Team, the Network Director will collaborate closely with campus leaders, instructional coaches, and academic staff to strengthen intervention systems, support school turnaround efforts, and ensure equitable access to a classical education for all students. The Network Director will also contribute to a positive and solutions-oriented team culture grounded in trust, transparency, and academic excellence. Duties and Responsibilities: Provide direct coaching, training, and support to campus interventionists across the network Lead and manage the Accelerated Instruction Plan (AIP) process, ensuring fidelity and progress toward academic goals Oversee implementation and compliance for state-mandated programs, including Reading Academies and accelerated instruction Develop and maintain consistent intervention systems, policies, and best practices across campuses, including annual updates to the intervention handbook Collaborate with GHA to build and refine TEKS-aligned tools and data systems to support intervention planning and delivery Support headmasters and instructional leaders in implementing effective intervention and instructional coaching practices, particularly at turnaround and new campuses Plan and facilitate professional development for interventionists and school leaders; ensure required trainings related to MTSS and intervention are completed Coordinate intervention staffing needs with HR, Talent, and campus leaders, especially for target and launch campuses Ensure legal and ethical compliance in all intervention practices, and support resolution of elevated student support cases as needed Assist in annual budgeting and strategic planning for intervention resources, in collaboration with Academic Services and campus leadership Support the Sr. Director of Special Student Services in district and campus improvement planning and regional initiatives Required Skills and Abilities: Servant Leadership Leads through service, prioritizing the success of schools, teams, and students above personal recognition Demonstrates a collaborative mindset rooted in humility and support Recognized by peers and references for a consistent, others-first leadership style Talent Development and Coaching Proven ability to coach individuals across a full performance spectrum—from struggling to high-performing Builds clarity in roles and expectations while fostering growth and capacity in team members Develops a strong culture of accountability and professional excellence Strategic Execution and Communication Exceptional ability to think critically and communicate complex ideas with clarity and precision Skilled in designing and managing large-scale initiatives across multi-campus organizations Ensures follow-through and execution of high-impact academic strategies Professionalism, Integrity, and Emotional Intelligence Maintains a strong work ethic and consistently delivers high-quality results Communicates transparently and directly, fostering a culture of trust and candor Prioritizes relationship-building, collaborative problem solving, and student-centered decision-making Fulfills commitments reliably and models integrity in all interactions Travel Requirement Willing and able to travel approximately 30% of the time across Great Hearts Texas campuses and regions Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree or higher strongly preferred Academic background in a liberal arts discipline preferred Demonstrated interest in classical education, including its content, pedagogy, and philosophical foundations Minimum of three years of experience as a campus-level school leader (e.g., Headmaster, Principal, AP) Preferred: experience managing principals or serving in a district-level academic leadership role Great Hearts is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
