Core Responsibilities and Scope Provide leadership to the Heart and Vascular Institute and Children’s Hospital in all facets of cardiac noninvasive imaging, and support local and statewide initiatives.
Take direction of the AVP of HVI and Children’s Hospital and the Physician Director of the Imaging Innovation Center.
Lead strategic development of noninvasive cardiac imaging for both adult and pediatric practice within the WVU Medicine Enterprise.
Define expected standards for noninvasive imaging systems in collaboration with the AVP of HVI and Children’s Hospital and the Manager of Cardiac Vascular Services-Non Invasive.
Direct education and training in collaboration with local and statewide initiatives for noninvasive imaging and conduct research as defined via strategy.
Provide direction and support to newly established WVU Medicine hospitals and clinics with imaging services.
Standardize processes/protocols including equipment/software purchases, protocols, and accreditation for imaging departments of WVU Medicine.
Minimum Qualifications Education, Certification, and/or Licensure:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
Must hold one of the following:
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) through ARDMS.
Radiologic Technologist with the West Virginia Board of Imaging and registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography and one additional modality through ARRT: Nuclear Medicine Technology (N) or Vascular Sonography (VS).
Experience Seven (7) years of direct leadership experience developing and managing adult and pediatric imaging services.
Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in business administration or related field.
Cardiovascular Imaging Informatics (Imaging PACS and related system applications) management experience.

Develops strategic direction of the Imaging Innovation Center in conjunction with the HVI and Children’s Hospital Administration; provides leadership, direction, and education to imaging staff in conjunction with noninvasive manager.
Ensure standards for HVI Noninvasive Imaging System and processes; assure optimum performance of medical imaging and interpretation services in alignment with the institution’s missions. Identify device trial opportunities and collaborate with industry professionals for participation.
Develop efficient reporting, compliance, and educational architecture for local and statewide initiatives.
Plan, organize, and develop annual operating and capital budgets.
Develop annual goals to support noninvasive imaging and the Imaging Innovation Center.
Coordinate resources to achieve goals for efficient and effective operations for noninvasive imaging in HVI and Children’s Hospital, and the Imaging Innovation Center.
Collaborate with the Physician Director of the Imaging Innovation Center and administrative leadership to develop, implement, and monitor strategic plans and operational/financial performance including educational programs internally, locally, and statewide.
Facilitate communication between investigators and statisticians to obtain relevant research data; assist providers with protocol development when necessary.
Facilitate and compile research data, statistics, and draft/write research articles for review as appropriate; prepare articles for publication when suitable.
Establish and ensure effective reporting and communications between program components, sites, and teams; direct regular reporting to program leadership, sponsors, and program team.
Direct effective utilization of department resources including staffing, space, and budgets; monitor budgetary performance of clinical research components and report to departmental administration.
Prepare grant applications suitable for submission to funding agencies as appropriate.
Conduct patient and lab research as directed by the Director of Imaging Innovation Center; attend educational conferences and engage with vendors to stay informed about new technology.
Enforce hospital and departmental policies; ensure staff meet established standards of practice; monitor staff satisfaction and take corrective action with the Manager of Non Invasive Imaging.
Work with outreach hospitals and clinics to standardize and improve processes; participate in operational meetings of WVU Medicine Outreach hospitals and provide feedback on compliance, technology, and education.
Assist outreach hospitals/clinics with imaging software purchases and/or upgrades to align with the Enterprise for consistency and pricing.
Enhance the organization’s market position for visibility and usage of cardiovascular and imaging service lines; serve as a liaison to adult and pediatric cardiovascular physicians and practices that utilize HVI and Children’s Hospital services.
Develop and sustain physician relationships to increase involvement and recruitment of community referring physicians.
Provide matrix oversight of all hospital departments and services impacting quality and cost efficiency of the cardiovascular service line.
Utilize Lean principles to continuously improve value to the patient; support attainment of SLA metrics.

Proficient with Excel, PowerPoint, and SPSS/SAS.
Extensive knowledge of clinical research operations and budget management.
Management skills in leading employees and completing performance management.
