The Position
The Director of Market Development for the MedTech Business Unit is a strategic leader responsible for driving IDN standardization, maternal morbidity reduction, and commercial growth across maternal health technologies, including our postpartum hemorrhage medical device. This role leads a high-impact, cross-functional team focused on strategic account management, perinatal quality advancement, and reimbursement strategy.
The Director will shape and execute initiatives that influence policy, optimize contracting, and expand adoption across Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs), hospital systems, and emerging care settings. Success in this role requires deep expertise in maternal health, healthcare economics, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable strategy.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Vision
Develop and execute a comprehensive market development strategy aligned with MedTech business goals and the broader maternal health mission.
Lead initiatives that drive IDN standardization through reduction of severe maternal morbidity (SMM), resource optimization, and cost containment.
Serve as an internal champion for maternal health innovation, policy advancement, and health system transformation.
Team Leadership & Development
Manage and mentor a high-performing team across strategic accounts, quality strategy, and reimbursement.
Foster collaboration with Direct Selling Team, Sales Force Effectiveness, Medical Affairs, Marketing, and Commercial Enablement to ensure unified execution.
Set performance goals, coach team members, and drive accountability across complex workstreams.
IDN & Stakeholder Engagement
Cultivate executive-level relationships with IDNs, hospital systems, and healthcare organizations.
Guide strategic account planning and top-down initiatives to influence clinical protocols, EMR integration, and policy adoption.
Support team efforts in engaging C-suite stakeholders, Quality Improvement departments, and clinical leadership.
Pricing, Contracting & Reimbursement Strategy
Oversee pricing strategy for IDNs, provide strategic input for local hospital pricing.
Oversee development of billing, coding, and payer engagement strategies to ensure favorable access and financial sustainability.
Lead efforts in health economics modeling, cost consequence analysis, and reimbursement resource development.
Ensure compliance with CMS regulations, Stark Law, and anti-kickback statutes.
Perinatal Quality Strategy & Advocacy
Direct national and state-level policy engagement to advance perinatal quality standards and maternal safety goals.
Support development and integration of clinical bundles, toolkits, and standing orders for PPH management.
Represent Organon in key policy forums and with perinatal quality collaboratives.
Data-Driven Strategy & Commercial Impact
Analyze market trends, performance metrics, and health outcomes to inform strategy and optimize execution.
Guide team in leveraging data to support value-based contracting, business reviews, and IDN-wide adoption.
Collaborate with Sales Leadership to align targeting strategy and measure program impact across Direct Selling and Market Development Teams.
Required Experience and Skills
Proven leadership experience in market development, strategic account management, or healthcare policy.
Deep understanding of IDN dynamics and reimbursement frameworks (maternal health knowledge preferred).
Demonstrated ability and experience influencing senior stakeholders and policy makers.
Strong compliance acumen in medical device commercialization.
Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams and driving strategic initiatives.
Preferred Education, Experience and Skills
Experience with interventional therapies, preferably in maternal health.
Advanced degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business, or related field.
Expertise in payer marketing, contract analytics, and health economics.

Annualized Salary Range (US)
