What You Will Do:
The Director of Marketing oversees brand strategy as well as the development and execution of 360 animation campaigns for all respective innovations and core categories. They also act as the strategic marketing lead for retailers (Nordstrom, Dillard’s, Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, and Blue Mercury), partnering closely with Sales and their Assistant Manager to execute strategies effectively.
PRINCIPLE OBJECTIVES 50%
Develops the brand’s strategy for their categories through market and customer analysis (market intel, NPD sizing, customer feedback, shopping behaviors, CRM data) to ensure market share and retailer needs are met.
Executes the brand’s sampling strategy and budget across all channels to promote trial and build activations around key pay-to-play moments.
Manages launch timelines with DMI/development and demand planning, highlighting potential issues to senior management.
Owns wholesale marketing relationships with top retailers, working closely with sales teams to meet their needs.
Tracks market and competitive activity, providing regular feedback on trends.
Collaborates with sales teams to ensure marketing plans are implemented effectively in the field, including timely delivery and feedback collection.
Monitors competition and market trends monthly, including Luxe and Hyper Luxe segments.
Evaluates new product launches and promotions, providing summaries at monthly meetings.
Visits the field and assists in executing events and animations as needed.
DEVELOPMENT 25%
Provides strategic recommendations for line development, including launches, extensions, and reformulations.
Creates efficiencies in processes and facilitates internal approvals.
Prepares seasonal launch presentations to support sales and merchandising opportunities.
Develops and mentors the Assistant Marketing Manager to execute and deliver results.
Skills:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
8-10 years of marketing experience, cosmetics marketing preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Strong project management, strategic, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills, ability to handle multiple tasks.
Financial and analytical experience, including sales forecasting and budget management.
Ability to work proactively in a hands-on, entrepreneurial environment.
Teamwork, influence, positive attitude, initiative, and proactivity.
Understanding of ROI analysis, metrics, and budgeting.
