Remote/Flexible - we can only consider candidates located in CA, WA, OR, IL, MD, MA, MN, NY, OH, PA, TX, and SC. Offices are located in Los Angeles and Seattle.

Total Compensation: $120,000 - $140,000

The Director is responsible for ensuring the client experience is the best Hypothesis has to offer. They act as the client's project lead by applying thought leadership, leading client touchpoint meetings, leading analytic planning, presenting the research story, and maintaining strong levels of client satisfaction.

What Youll Do:

Client Impact:

  • Cultivate a deep understanding of clients businesses and objectives
  • Act as a trusted partner to clients, and maintain strong client satisfaction
  • Lead strategic meetings with clients throughout the Project Lifecycle
  • Own the projects analytic planning process and scope of work management
  • Create qualitative and quantitative outlines using strategic research experience and skills
  • Collaborate with Consultants and Analysts to finalize storypoints outline, and solicit feedback from Project leadership and Design
  • Review and approve final report and ensure themes align with the analytics plan
  • Own delivery and presentation of final report to client, and answer client follow-up questions

Team Impact:

  • Manage several direct reports
  • Lead and encourage direct reports to accomplish personal, team, and
    company goals
  • Provide clear expectations of work performance, and regularly provide positive and constructive feedback and coaching to help direct reports reach their full potential in their roles
  • Identify training and growth development needs for direct reports and create learning plans with clear goals and timelines for completion
  • Teach direct reports how to translate client objectives into critical outlines
  • Address individual and team conflicts when needed in a prompt, professional manner
  • Conduct annual performance reviews

  • Contribute to the strategic direction of the company by growing client satisfaction and developing strong teams and talent
  • Champion an area of expertise within the organization and serve as a subject matter expert
  • Contribute to company culture and champion the Hypothesis Way

What You Have:

  • 8+ years of direct market research experience at a market research agency
  • Experience with people management, with a desire to mentor, coach, and manage a team of researchers
  • Experience with a variety of methodologies within quantitative (segmentation, conjoint, thought leadership, etc.) and qualitative (focus groups, in-depth interviews, etc.) research
  • Experience with a variety of industries and audiences
  • Ability to lead both quantitative and qualitative research projects from start to finish, anticipate next steps, and proactively identify and resolves issues
  • Strong collaborator with ability to bring people along and move projects forward
  • Consultative nature to advise clients and work towards business outcomes
  • Ability to navigate competing priorities and concurrent projects/team needs
