Duties and Responsibilities
Leads efforts to optimize manufacturing processes, enhance efficiency, reduce waste, improve quality, and support technology transfer, process validation, and scale-up activities. Provides technical support for clinical and commercial manufacturing, including batch execution, deviation management, and compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory standards. Collaborates with cross-functional teams such as Research and Development, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, and Supply Chain to align manufacturing strategies with organizational goals. Drives continuous improvement through innovation, risk assessments, process development, and the implementation of emerging technologies and industry trends. Provides leadership to the manufacturing team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and growth, while managing performance evaluations, team development, and project timelines from ideation to completion. While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the workday and frequently use their hands and fingers to handle or feel in order to access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The employee is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Knowledge and Skills Strong leadership and management skills, with proven experience leading cross-functional teams and effectively driving collaboration in complex environments. Extensive knowledge of GMP, Food and Drug Administration and European Union regulations, tech transfer, risk assessments, quality systems, and engineering fundamentals. Experience and Qualifications Minimum of 5 years managing technical operations in sterile manufacturing, with 2 years in manufacturing sciences, process development, or validation in the biopharmaceutical industry. Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related technical discipline; advanced degree preferred.
