Position Overview
As Director, you will oversee the full servicing lifecycle—managing everything from payment processing and construction draw releases to portfolio performance and investor reporting. You'll ensure procedures are followed and in full compliance with internal policy, regulatory guidelines, and investor requirements, including loan securitizations.
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity where you'll help shape the future of our servicing function by optimizing processes, implementing best practices, and mentoring a high-performing team. You'll collaborate cross-functionally with Originations, Client Relations, Underwriting, Asset Management, and Capital Markets to deliver a best-in-class borrower and investor experience.
This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer.
Summary of Primary Responsibilities
Directing the Servicing Manager and Servicing Team in matters related to hiring, training, performance management, and disciplinary actions as needed.
Ensuring a high-quality service experience for clients and business partners.
Partnering with other department heads including originations, underwriting, closing, and accounting to ensure communication, compliance, efficiency, and white glove servicer to our borrowers.
Implementing policies and procedures for best Servicing practices and improved department efficiency and accuracy.
Maintaining a working knowledge and understanding of loan servicing guidelines, policies and procedures.
Implementing policies and procedures for the servicing of securitized loans.
Ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulatory requirements for securitized and non-securitized loans.
Reviewing legal and servicing agreements for existing and new banking and loan sale relationships.
Setting and enforcing department standards for payoff requests, file maintenance, corrections, changes, etc.
Providing oversight and guidance for all necessary compliance and reporting on Servicing matters to banking partners.
Supervising the maintenance of property insurance for the servicing loan portfolio.
Liaising with internal and external clients on the status of delinquent and non-performing loans.
Other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
Degree from a four-year college or university program with an emphasis in business, finance or related field required.
Minimum 7+ years of Loan Servicing experience, with experience leading a team.
Experience servicing securitized loans.
Experience in private lending preferred.
Effective communicator, both verbally and written.
Detail-oriented and highly organized.
Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments in a fast-paced environment.
Continuous improvement mindset, and the ability to think critically about systems and processes to improve them through ingenuity, hard work and creative thinking.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
Proficient in loan servicing systems. Experience with The Mortgage Office is a plus.
Experience with Power BI and Salesforce is a plus.
Compensation
This position can either sit in our Los Angeles, CA or Phoenix, AZ office. It requires in-office work two (2) or more days per week, to ensure close alignment among all team members. This position is full-time exempt, with salary range: $120K - $140K, depending on experience level, plus discretionary bonus potential.
