Base pay range $164,000.00/yr - $215,000.00/yr The Director, Associate General Counsel, Litigation position protects the organization's rights, obligations and privileges and its legal interests by providing expert legal advice on litigation and regulatory enforcement matters. This job provides legal advice/counsel in business-related areas of expertise (e.g., corporate law, business litigation, ERISA, securities litigation, antitrust, etc.).

Key Responsibilities And Duties

Represents/advocates for the organization in litigation, arbitration, mediation, investigations, and regulatory enforcement matters. Develops and implements cost effective legal strategies on complex claims and lawsuits. Provides legal advice, guidance, and counsel to business partners on escalated disputes in advance of litigation. Identifies, evaluates, and addresses issues of litigation or regulatory risk. Oversees responses to third party subpoenas served on organization’s business units. Researches, analyzes, and interprets proposed and existing laws, statutes, and regulations. Advises management on recent changes in laws and regulations and litigation developments that affect the organization.

Required Experience:

5+ years of legal experience as a litigation attorney at a national law firm and/or in-house legal department required.

Preferred Experience:

7+ years of legal experience as a litigation attorney at a national law firm and/or in-house legal department preferred. JD from an ABA-accredited law school and member in good standing of a state bar. 7+ years of demonstrated ability to manage litigations and investigations with limited supervision and act as lead counsel on sophisticated, complex matters. Experience in securities litigation, enforcement matters, investigations, ERISA, antitrust, broker-dealer, and/or insurance law a plus. Strong verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills and organizational skills. Advanced problem solving and prioritization skills.
