MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education:  Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. Licenses/Certifications:  (None) Experience / Knowledge / Skills: Five (5) years of healthcare experience and five (5) years of management experience
Proficient in written and verbal communication and advanced analytical skills required
Experience within healthcare operations and labor management systems required
Extensive PC skills including spreadsheets, databases, document, and presentation application
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES Develops/assists and executes long-term strategy to achieve key business objective and establishes specific productivity goals to be accomplished and directs the activities of the organization aimed toward meeting those strategic and financial goals.
Responsible for the overall workforce development as it relates to internal forecasting and reporting of staffing impacts.
Develop policies that impact the workforce positively and work with Operational staff to ensure communication of these policies and that procedures are adhered to.
This position will require analysis of real-time and historical performance and identify opportunities to improve performance and identify and communicate real-time impact and forecasting needs.
Develops methods for measuring outcomes against established targets.
Oversees and improves daily operations, policies, systems, and procedures necessary to support labor management and system utilization goals; ensures consistency across organization.
Accountable for the performance and results of the labor management function across the entire system.
Continuously monitors productivity performance, ensuring delivery of consistent and accurate management reporting to accelerate decision making.
Ensure alignment with key stakeholders while appropriately balancing support, reporting and accountability to achieve system and hospital financial and operational goals.
Directs standard training for tools that support labor management.
Ensures department productivity targets support the hospital’s monthly budget.
Actively participates in annual budget process and implements changes as needed. Participates in campus budget process and provides recommendations related to labor management as needed.
Partners with hospital and system HR leaders on various personnel issues that impact labor spend.
Develop and implement communication cadences to keep stakeholders informed of performance against service level, budget, and staffing needs.
Review’s productivity, turnover, and volume trending reports to ensure all other options have been exhausted before approving premium spend.
Directs standardization of operational policies and procedures across organization as appropriate.
Utilizes comparative market data to target performance improvement opportunities and cost efficiencies.
Directs a variety of projects to provide hospitals with statistical data in areas including information flow, cost containment, work standards, staffing levels, scheduling, and productivity.
Recommends improvements based on research to implement operational best-practices.
Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as a resource to less experienced staff.
