Henry Ford Health is seeking a Director of Infrastructure and Project Management. This leader administers and oversees day-to-day operations of healthcare facility infrastructure projects for the Henry Ford Health (HFH). The principal responsibilities are to assure successful completion of all infrastructure projects by partnering with system planning and design, and overseeing related construction management, equipment/furnishing, and IT, and supporting occupancy planning. The role reports to the HFH System Vice President of Infrastructure Planning, Design and Construction, with a matrix relationship to all construction project stakeholders. This position is a member of the health system support services leadership team, and will actively participate in strategic, operational, and capital planning.
The Director of Infrastructure and Project Management (IPM) will provide leadership and technical expertise for all teams related to construction and capital budget in a team-oriented environment and as needed, support Planning, Design & Construction (PDC) with capital projects. This role is responsible for monitoring day-to-day departmental operational efficiencies and staffing and creating an environment that motivates staff to accomplish successful construction projects in a team environment. Reporting to this position will be Project Manager(s) (currently estimated at one or two). Manages any contracted employees or temporary interns or employees. Hiring and ongoing supervision, including performance reviews and monitoring for all subordinates and those who review others are expected.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· BA or BS degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field is required.
· Masters Degree preferred. Ten (10) years of operational facilities experience specifically related to healthcare in a Level 1 Trauma institute.
· Five (5) years of experience in a healthcare design and construction leadership role, encompassing planning, design, contract management, in a healthcare setting.
· Five (5) years prior supervisory and budget management experience and background.
· Five (5) years management experience encompassing technical and staff construction supervision.
· Experience with capital planning or management in Hospital or Healthcare organization.
· Experience with construction estimating.
· Familiarity with academic medical centers and demonstrated ability to work across an integrated delivery system, developing strong partnerships and communicating effective with all organizational stakeholders.
· Analytical and quantitative acumen related to construction.
· Critical thinking, logic, and analytical ability to identify and assess the strengths and weaknesses of different approaches to project work and operations, identifying the nature of problems, implementing solutions, observing, and evaluating the outcomes of a proposed solution to identify lessons learned or to redirect efforts.
· Excellent interpersonal skills required. Must possess strong management skills, with an emphasis on people development.
· Must possess ability to be a self-starter and independent worker, able to juggle priorities and manage own work.
· Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
· A personal presence which is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the mission, values, vision, and goals of HFH.
· Knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Project), Bluebeam, e-Builder, and SharePoint.
· Familiarity with CMMS PM programs for data extraction.
