ENA offers a flexible hybrid work schedule that allows employees the opportunity to work from the office two days a week and at home three days a week. We are headquartered in Schaumburg, Illinois.


GENERAL SUMMARY

The Director, Information Technology provides strategic and execution leadership for all technical and digital solutions, services and platforms. This role is responsible for creating a comprehensive IT strategy that maximizes technology and digital capabilities for an optimal user experience across the organization. The Director, Information Technology engages in long term organizational planning through active leadership and collaboration with key stakeholders to further the overall mission of the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Responsible for strategic and programmatic leadership of technology strategy, network and application development operations, platform functionality and system governance, ensuring cohesive execution among all IT functions and platforms.
  1. Shapes system architecture, identifying gaps and delivering comprehensive solutions that drive proactive advancement of organizational priorities.
  1. Develops and implements short- and long-term IT strategies that advance the association’s strategic plan.
  1. Drives innovation and proactive process improvement through collaboration with other departments on the development and execution of business plans to advance strategic priorities.
  1. Oversees the development of comprehensive project plans for execution of IT initiatives. This includes the development and oversight of clear system requirements intake, budget and approval.
  1. Ensures the development of system and platform governance policies to ensure compliance and data integrity across ENA platforms.
  1. Develops annual IT capital, operating and project budgets, as well as providing strategic guidance to contributing stakeholders, to support strategic and operational initiatives.
  1. Assesses ongoing system functionality and addresses risk mitigation strategies to ensure optimal functionality and security across all ENA IT platforms.
  1. Monitors and assesses trends and future technologies to ensure ENA is maximizing technology and digital capabilities that support and enable growth, especially technological efficiency opportunities, such as AI.
  1. Coach, mentor and develop staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities.
  1. Empowers employees to take responsibility for their jobs and goals. Delegates responsibility and expects accountability and regular feedback.
  1. Collaborates with ENA Human Resources for the recruiting, onboarding, retention, professional development and performance management of staff.
  1. Leads in a manner that is consistent with the association’s culture statement and emphasizes the mission, vision and values of the organization.
  1. Displays a high level of accountability, taking responsibility for individual actions and the impact on the organization. Views oneself as a reflection of the organization by following through on commitments and accepting ownership.
  1. Performs additional related duties as required or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or similar discipline
  • 8-10 years experience in information technology with progressive leadership experience within technology.
  • Minimum of 5 years demonstrated strategic leadership
  • Project Management experience

Desired:

  • Master’s degree in information technology, business administration or relevant field

  • High level of knowledge of systems, software solutions and emerging technologies to drive organizational growth and digital transformation
  • Ability to translate business processes and requirements into technical specifications and effective solutions. Requires blending hands-on involvement with strategic leadership
  • Innovative, strategic planning skills, with the ability to adapt to a changing environment
  • Ability to exercise high level of discretion, creativity, and independent judgment
  • Ability to effectively manage organizational development and change by critical thinking, short and long-term planning, analysis, business and strategic planning skills
  • Ability to mentor and motivate assigned staff
  • Ability to assimilate and role model the association’s collaborative culture
  • Ability to prioritize multiple and varied tasks within established deadlines

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
This position is an exempt/salaried position. The targeted salary range is $160k-$175k annually. Compensation is determined based on a range of factors, including experience, education, certifications or specialized training, skill level and operational needs.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Nature of work requires an ability to operate standard business office equipment. Requires ability to communicate verbally and in writing in an exchange of information; collect, compile and prepare work documents; set-up and maintain work files. Use of the computer, with repetitive motion, is approximately 80%.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Majority of work is performed in a general office environment. Occasional travel by may be required.
