Position Summary Our client, a leader in the manufacturing sector, is seeking a seasoned and strategic Director of IT Operations to lead the modernization and ongoing management of their technology infrastructure. This role is responsible for ensuring the availability, scalability, and security of enterprise systems while driving operational efficiency and IT service excellence across the organization. Reporting directly to the CTO, the Director will oversee all core infrastructure domains—including cloud, on-premise, and hybrid environments; network and security systems; digital workplace platforms; and data center operations. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in IT operations leadership, cybersecurity oversight, and IT service management to support a secure, high-performing, and future-ready technology environment. Key Responsibilities: Enterprise Infrastructure & Operations Lead the global IT infrastructure strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals. Oversee operations of network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, VPN, firewalls), cloud services, on-prem data centers, and hybrid systems. Drive performance, uptime, and disaster recovery capabilities across all critical systems. Manage digital workplace tools and services, including end-user computing, collaboration platforms, and telephony. Cybersecurity & Risk Management Own cybersecurity initiatives and lead cross-functional security projects. Collaborate with external Security Operations Center (SOC) to detect and respond to threats. Implement and maintain security policies, compliance frameworks, and user training programs. Ensure continuous alignment with regulatory and risk management requirements. Operational Excellence & Governance Build and mature IT operational processes based on ITIL best practices (incident, change, and problem management). Lead IT project governance and delivery, ensuring initiatives are on time, on budget, and strategically aligned. Manage IT budget planning, vendor selection, and ongoing partner performance. Define and track key performance metrics, using data to drive continuous improvement. Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement Act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on infrastructure and operational strategy. Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing IT operations team. Establish a balanced delivery model through internal staff and managed service providers. Collaborate with business units to ensure IT solutions meet evolving needs and support growth. Qualifications 10+ years of progressive IT operations experience, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role. Deep expertise managing complex enterprise infrastructure in cloud, hybrid, and on-prem environments. Proven track record leading cybersecurity programs and working with SOCs or MSSPs. Experience implementing ITIL-based service management, project governance, and operational KPIs. Strong financial acumen and vendor management skills, including contract negotiation and cost optimization. Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Preferred Skills & Certifications Certifications: ITIL v4 Expert, PMP, CISSP, CISM. Cloud Experience: Advanced knowledge of AWS or Azure infrastructure and operations. Modern Workplace: Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Zoom/Teams/Slack, and digital workplace enablement. Regulatory Compliance: Exposure to SOX, ISO 27001, GDPR, or other global standards. Data & Reporting: Skilled in leveraging dashboards, KPIs, and scorecards to guide performance. Change Agent: Demonstrated ability to lead cultural and operational transformation across global teams.
