Position Summary The Krach Institute for Tech Diplomacy at Purdue is seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial Director, Individual Giving to join our growing development team. This is a critical role for a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, startup-like environment and is excited to build and scale an individual giving and membership program from the ground up. Based in Washington, DC (preferred) or remote with travel, this position reports directly to the Chief Revenue Officer, and will focus on identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding individual donors to support the Institute’s rapidly expanding mission and impact.

You’ll work directly with senior leaders, play a key role in building a high-impact fundraising engine, and help fuel the Institute’s global mission to advance freedom through trusted technology. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute a strategic plan to grow the Institute’s base of individual donors and launch an individual membership program with a focus on gifts from $1,000-$100,000. Identify and cultivate prospective donors, working closely with senior leadership to align funding opportunities with donor interests. Manage a personal portfolio of donors and prospects, ensuring tailored engagement and stewardship. Coordinate individual donor and membership events throughout the year. Collaborate with program and communications teams to craft online and mailing campaigns, compelling cases for support and other donor-facing materials. Track and report on individual giving metrics, using data to refine strategy and drive results. Support leadership fundraising activity and prepare briefings and materials for donor meetings and events. Contribute to a collaborative, ambitious fundraising culture as an integral member of the development team. Qualifications 5-8 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, with a strong track record in individual giving. Entrepreneurial mindset with the initiative to build systems, relationships, and programs from scratch. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to forge relationships with a diverse group of donors, and craft compelling donor messages. Results-oriented with strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to travel up to 30% of time. Comfortable engaging with high-level donors and working closely with C-suite executives. Passion for advancing freedom, technology, and America’s leadership in the world.
