Position Summary Orlando Health Watson Clinic Lakeland Highlands Hospital is seeking a Director of Imaging Services to provide strategic, operational, and clinical oversight of all diagnostic imaging departments. This role is instrumental in ensuring the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality imaging services that support timely and accurate diagnosis, treatment planning, and patient care across the continuum. The Director will provide visionary leadership and direction for a multidisciplinary team, and foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and innovation, and ensure that imaging services not only meet but exceed clinical, regulatory, and patient satisfaction standards. This leader will also play a critical role in maintaining accreditation, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and driving continuous quality improvement initiatives. Responsibilities Essential Functions • Adheres to Orlando Health, mission statements, commitment to excellence standards and the Orlando Health Way. • Develops and maintains budgetary and procedural performance. • Attends corporate Imaging Council and any assigned corporate workgroup. • Responsible for a staff of 40 or greater full-time equivalents (FTEs) in an individual or multiple departments. Maintains corrective action plans for budgetary variances. • Works with corporate team to set standards that meet all regulatory bodies to include JCH, Florida Department of Health, and NRC. Elicits input from corporate radiology consultant regarding capital acquisitions, quality, and systems issues to ensure consistency throughout the system. • Plans and assists in the development of new diagnostic services to support technological advancements. • Communicates regularly with Medical Director of Radiology, and hospital physicians to ensure proper Imaging operations. • Takes responsibility for professional development of self and all staff members. • Maintains appropriate documentation of budgetary, procedural, performance, and regulatory standards. • Provides statistics, executive summaries, and performance summaries to administrator as requested. • Works with other departments and assists other projects to ensure organized and effective departmental functionality. • Utilizes all corporate Imaging computer systems effectively and accurately. • Manages various personnel functions including hiring, work assignments, coaching plans, and disciplinary actions. • Ensures safety of all customers. • Maintainsreasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards. • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures. Other Related Functions • Works with the Radiation Safety Offer (RSO) to assure safe radioactive material practices within Orlando Health. • Attends and conducts meetings with staff, physicians, and vendors as necessary. Qualifications Education/Training Bachelor’s Degree and current licensure in Radiologic Technology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, or Master’s Degree in a related field is required. Licensure/Certification • Valid Certified Radiologic Technologist licensure by the State of Florida or Florida State License as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, renewed biannually, is preferred. • One of the following is preferred: Valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification, Certified (CNMT) by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). • BLS/Health Care Provider certification is preferred.
