Director, Human Resources at Cornerstone Research is responsible for a full range of HR services and programs with a focus on employee relations, performance management, learning and development, and guiding the development of HR systems. This role partners with the Chief Human Resources Officer, leading the HR team while providing empathetic and strategic counsel to all levels of the organization.

How You’ll Help Our Team Succeed

  • Develop and implement HR programs and policies that support the firm’s vision and values, emphasizing continuous improvement, teamwork, high performance and quality
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and the firm’s procedures and policies
  • Serve as project manager for development, implementation, and communication of new HR processes aimed at improving efficiency
  • Manage special projects from strategic vision to implementation
  • Collaborate with managers to identify and address employee relations, morale, work performance, and organizational productivity concerns; coach managers on best practices for performance feedback
  • Guide the recruiting process for corporate and administrative positions, implementing best practices and ensuring compliance

What You’ll Need To Be Successful

  • 15+ years of relevant experience showing increasing responsibility; professional services experience preferred
  • Experience managing a team at varying levels, including guiding managers with direct reports
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Advanced technological skills and experience with an HRMS; Workday preferred
  • Strong employee relations experience
  • Ability to collaborate with a geographically dispersed team across time zones
  • Initiative and ability to contribute actively to the firm
  • Effective and professional communication
  • Strong business acumen and ability to learn the firm’s financial and operational functions
  • Desire to provide superior service and balance strategic guidance with hands-on involvement
  • Ability and desire to commute to offices in Boston, Chicago, Washington, DC or San Francisco to comply with the hybrid policy (2-3 days in office)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
  • PHR or SHRM-CP required

Compensation and Benefits

Cornerstone Research offers a competitive base salary plus a total compensation package including an annual performance bonus and comprehensive benefits (healthcare options, paid time off, retirement savings). Relocation assistance is not offered. Salary ranges vary by location (examples below):

  • Boston: $182,800.00 – $247,600.00
  • Chicago: $179,500.00 – $243,100.00
  • San Francisco: $183,600.00 – $248,700.00
  • Washington, DC: $165,400.00 – $224,000.00
