Overview The Director of Human Resources - Cook Inc., develops partnerships across all functional areas and sites in order to deliver value added service to management and employees reflecting the business objectives of the organization. This position acts as a strategic partner and consultant to management and employees on HR related issues.
Responsibilities • Analyze trends and metrics to develop solutions, programs and policies • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues • Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partner with legal counsel as needed/required. • Provide day to day performance management guidance to management and employees• Ensure compliance with all applicable company, federal, and local safety and environmental regulations, guidelines and policies • Ensure effective use of personnel throughout the department• Provide guidance and input on functional restructures, workforce planning, succession planning
• Guide departmental operations and personnel by way of performance reviews, training and development programs, setting and tracking goals and objectives, and promoting fiscal responsibility • Build and maintain strong and diverse relationships across the organization, including key client groups, peers, senior management, and subordinates • Prioritize critical versus non-critical issues, and communicate the critical issues to management and team leaders in a clear and timely manner • Assist Global Vice President of Human Resources as required• Attend and lead various strategic and informational Meetings • Align Cook Inc. policies, processes, and goals with those of Cook Medical’s functions and entities.• Develop policy, direction, strategy, and initiatives for Cook Inc. Human Resources department• Prioritize projects and defining clear expectations for employees.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required or equivalent work experience
10 years experience in human resources preferred
5 years of managerial and leadership experience preferred
Working knowledge of applicable regulatory standards (FDA, CFR, OSHA, etc.)
PHR, SPHR or GPHR certification strongly preferred
Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, etc.)
Significant experience working with senior leaders, leading teams and working in complex global matrix organization
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must have proven ability to foster and support a culture of collaboration and teamwork and able to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues across all departments
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
Works under general office environmental conditions.
Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment.
Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching.
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Requires normal hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports.
