As an HBM Ecosystem Design Architect in the HBM Design Architecture group, you will be responsible for aligning Micron’s HBM design and technology development with the rapidly evolving AI/ML computing ecosystem. You possess technical expertise in AI workloads, memory subsystem architectures, and closely track industry trends to ensure Micron’s HBM solutions remain optimized for next-generation applications. You will collaborate closely with multiple internal teams, business units, and external partners to drive technology alignment and innovation.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Engage in HBM memory ecosystem developments closely while attending and representing Micron Engineering at key technical conferences and partner events.
Summarize, synthesize, and communicate key developments from industry events, highlighting intersections with Micron's HBM technology roadmap.
Build and maintain relationships with ecosystem partners including hyperscalers, accelerator vendors, IP providers, and academic collaborators.
Develop deep technical expertise in AI/ML and LLM computing architectures, including training/inference pipelines, memory bandwidth requirements, and compute-memory interconnects.
Work with technical experts to analyze emerging AI workloads and software frameworks to identify memory subsystem bottlenecks and opportunities for HBM optimization.
Lead multi-functional initiatives to integrate AI ecosystem insights into HBM design innovation and architectural decisions.
Develop and present technical briefings and technology roadmap SWOT reviews to senior leadership and technical team members.
Contribute to pathfinding efforts for future HBM generations, including co-packaged memory, chiplet architectures, and advanced packaging solutions.
Collaborate with internal architecture, design, and product teams to align HBM roadmap features with AI ecosystem needs.
Supervise post-silicon bring-up and ecosystem trends on DFT and DFM innovation to ensure HBM roadmap is well aligned
Successful candidates for this position will have:
Proven track record of technical leadership and strategic influence in AI/ML system architecture, memory subsystem design, or semiconductor product strategy.
Deep understanding of memory technologies (preferably HBM), DRAM operation, and JEDEC specifications.
Proven understanding of AI/ML computing trends, including LLM scaling laws, accelerator architectures (GPU, TPU, custom ASIC), and memory hierarchy optimization.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to synthesize sophisticated technical and market data into clear, actionable insights.
Experience engaging with customers, partners, and industry consortia at a deep technical level.
Required Experience:
PhD or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
15+ years of experience in semiconductor technology.
Proven impact in shaping technology roadmaps at the organizational level.
