Director, GTM Commercialization Finance

Overview Databricks is looking for an outstanding Finance Director to join our Strategic Finance team in our mission to help data teams solve the world's toughest problems. In this unique role, you will be the strategic finance lead supporting our GTM Commercialization team, which is responsible for Databricks’ commercial offers, pricing, and policies. As a finance professional who has experienced hypergrowth and/or worked in highly dynamic environments, you have the ability to work independently, be highly analytical, and not only build the models, but also communicate insights and recommendations from those models. You collaborate effectively with your business partners and across the business to influence decisions. You will work alongside rocket scientists, take apart complex issues, develop actionable insights, and work cross-functionally to deliver the right financial outcome. You will also partner with other members of the Finance, Accounting, IT, and Strategy and Operations teams. Responsibilities Lead the GTM Commercialization finance function, managing a lean but mighty team, and providing leadership and oversight on all financial matters related to GTM Commercialization Be an “embedded” member within the GTM Commercialization team, representing Finance, acting as a thought leader and providing strategic advice Own and build the financial models that support Commercialization’s efforts and launches; understand and reflect the impact to operational, financial, and accounting processes Effectively communicate, educate, and coordinate required changes with impacted teams; be the “voice of Finance” and assess from multiple perspectives Analytically solve problems based on data, and clearly convey the message with easy-to-understand narratives and presentations Nurture deep, trusted partnerships with Commercialization, GTM functions, Finance, Accounting, IT, Business Operations, and their respective technical teams Build and run an effective process to track and manage budgets and measure outcomes for programs and changes launched by the GTM Commercialization team Develop repeatable reporting and analyses, driving actionable insights (such as customer cohort models, return-on-investment frameworks, funnel analysis, top-line and bottom-line metrics) Act as an internal financial consultant, bridging and balancing strategic and operational concerns What We Look For Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or equivalent quantitative field; MBA or graduate degree preferred 10+ years or equivalent tenure in FP&A, strategic finance, corporate finance, investment banking, or management consulting Experience with Consumption or SaaS revenue models, related revenue recognition and metrics in high-growth environments Business Partnership: experience using quantitative analysis to improve important decisions across GTM organizations Proven manager with the ability to recruit, retain, and develop top talent Financial Modeling: expert with the ability to oversee and maintain complex spreadsheets; Google Sheets expertise a plus Data Analysis: ability to translate business questions into data-driven insights; SQL & Python experience a strong plus Executive Presence and Communication: ability to present financial data with detailed reports, charts, and narratives Experience with GAAP and non-GAAP financial metrics, especially around revenue and expense accounting High competency with systems such as Anaplan, Netsuite, Salesforce, Coupa, or Workday Pay Range Transparency Databricks is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Actual compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including job-related skills, depth of experience, certifications and training, and work location.
