Director, Gas & LNG Consulting

Drive proposal efforts for consulting engagements and multi-client studies. Build and nurture networks and relationships in the gas & LNG industry that lead to a deep understanding of clients needs and help source consulting opportunities for Wood Mackenzie. Formulate innovative approaches to client questions that maximize value for Wood Mackenzie and enable the development of new capabilities. Manage client relationships and expectations during engagements and ensure commitments to the client are met. Lead client projects, working with clients and the internal team to ensure high quality, insightful results that support our clients strategic decisions. Ensure consulting projects are delivered in line with anticipated budgets and timelines to generate expected economic outcomes for Wood Mackenzie. Build and maintain an internal network (across consulting, research, sales, data, and product) to deliver the best possible outcomes for our clients and Wood Mackenzie. Generate innovative ideas and approaches to gas & LNG industry issues that further enhance the value Wood Mackenzie can create for our clients. Actively coach teammates, advancing the development of subject matter expertise and consulting skills.
Telecommuting permitted up to 3 days per week.
Full time employment, Monday Friday, 40 hours per week
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Masters degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Energy Planning, Energy Systems Management or a related field and 6 years of consulting, strategic, or commercial work experience related to gas and LNG.
Alternatively, the employer will accept a Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Energy Planning, Energy Systems Management or a related field and 9 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate consulting, strategic, or commercial work experience related to gas and LNG.
Of the required experience, must have 5 years of experience in all of the following:
Energy value chain including energy transition; Commercial operations, business models, and strategies; Building and maintaining relationships with clients or senior decision makers; and Presenting strategic insight to senior management.
Of the required experience, must have 2 years of experience in all of the following:
Creating work product to deliver client engagements; Managing client engagements; and Scoping work for potential projects.
Must be willing and able to travel up to 20% internationally across Latin America and up to 10% domestically throughout the U.S. to visit client offices and attend industry conferences.
