Position Description
The Director for Curriculum, Assessment, Compliance and Scheduling is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of academic programs, ensuring compliance with educational standards and regulations, managing assessment strategies to enhance student learning outcomes, and coordinating the scheduling of courses. This role requires a commitment to academic excellence, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and external partners.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Curriculum & Assessment:
Coordinate compliance processes of curriculum development and transfer internally with Deans, and TAG / CTAG / ITAG / OT36’s with the Ohio Department of Education (ODHE) externally
Develop and maintain repository for Master Syllabi
Liaison to ODHE and the Higher Learning Commission (HLC)
Coordinate curriculum and assessment activities with the chairs of the assessment and curriculum committees, and faculty and staff.
Work with the chair of the assessment committee to develop ongoing assessment strategic plan
Maintain the assessment and curriculum handbooks and websites
Collaborate with academic offices in the development of measurable objectives, indicators and benchmarks of academic quality
Compliance:
Develop, maintain, and coordinate compliance calendar for the College
Creates the official academic calendar
Monitor the catalog/curriculum system
Coordinate and edit College catalog
Coordinate program and certificate funding with the Financial Aid department
Develop and coordinate required reporting materials for HLC and ODHE
Monitor scheduling requests are compliant with strategic scheduling policy
Data Management:
Oversee Academic Compensation (adjunct pay, faculty load, course development)
Serve as primary link between the academic structure and the IT department
Maintain Master Course inventory
Maintain Assessment data repository
Maintain Student Learning Outcome curriculum maps
Coordinate Reporting Artifacts (Narratives, Reports, HLC Evidence). Gathers data for various reports and surveys. Maintains related department records and documents. Generates annual reports of curriculum revisions for on-campus distribution
Works with the communications Department with updates of curriculum, program information, department and academic policies etc. displayed on the College’s webpages and My ZSC
Scheduling:
·Work strategically with department Chairs and Deans regarding schedule changes
·Oversees semester course schedule in Student Information System (Jenzabar One)
·Provide Curriculum Navigation. Assists in coordinating and managing the curriculum revision process. (Edvera, academic services network drive, etc.)
Other Duties as assigned. Qualifications
Master’s degree preferred, in higher education, organizational leadership or field related to position.
Three years of higher education experience. Knowledge of course transfer among higher education institutions.
Knowledge of Higher Education policy, practices, and procedures.
Proficient with Learning Management Systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and knowledge of statistical data systems.
Desired experience includes curriculum and assessment and ODHE course transfer database and systems.
