Position Overview
Crestline is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to lead the firm’s financial planning function. This individual will play a key role in shaping the financial strategy and performance management of a complex portfolio of credit-focused investments. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with deep expertise in Anaplan, a strong command of financial modeling, and a background in alternative asset management.

Key Responsibilities
Lead the FP&A function across Crestline’s platform, overseeing budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and performance reporting
Build and maintain robust, dynamic models in Anaplan to support budgeting, scenario analysis, and strategic decision-making
Deliver actionable insights to the CFO and executive team to support business strategy, capital allocation, and firm-wide initiatives
Collaborate cross-functionally with investment, accounting, operations, and distribution teams to ensure financial alignment and transparency
Continuously evaluate and improve financial planning processes, with a focus on automation, efficiency, and scalability
Manage, mentor, and develop a junior FP&A professional, fostering a high-performance, data-driven culture
Ensure accuracy and compliance across all financial planning activities in accordance with internal controls and regulatory standards
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CFA is a strong plus
8+ years of progressive FP&A experience, preferably within alternative asset management or credit-focused investing
Deep understanding of financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting best practices
Familiarity with credit investment strategies (e.g., private credit, structured credit, portfolio financing)
Ability to synthesize complex financial data into clear insights and recommendations for senior stakeholders
Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and influence outcomes
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with financial reporting tools and BI platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus
Preferred:
Demonstrated success in leading Anaplan-enabled FP&A transformations
Experience integrating technology and automation into financial workflows
Working knowledge of structured finance, portfolio performance metrics, and industry regulations
Comfort operating in a dynamic, high-growth environment with competing priorities and evolving demands
