Overview

The Director of Financial & People Systems is a strategic business leader who combines technical expertise with cross-functional collaboration. This role is responsible for building trusted partnerships across the organization, understanding business needs, and identifying opportunities that advance enterprise objectives while ensuring alignment with corporate goals and priorities. This role is within the Corporate Engineering organization and reports to the Head of Corporate Engineering. It closely partners with Checkr’s FinOps and People Operations teams to enable their success through technology.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with Checkr’s FinOps and People Operations teams to define capabilities and shape the systems roadmap for a scalable application platform.
  • Build and lead high-performing teams to translate business needs into detailed requirements and deliver effective system solutions.
  • Oversee the design, integration, and implementation of systems that align with business requirements while adhering to enterprise architecture standards, maximizing efficiency, and ensuring data protection and platform compatibility.
  • Establish and manage processes for evaluating and selecting third-party applications, including RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, and assessments through demos, POCs, pilots, and other evaluation methods.
  • Ensure reliable, uninterrupted delivery of IT services across user groups, maintaining strong partnerships with stakeholders.
  • Lead the development and execution of security, risk mitigation, and control strategies to safeguard company infrastructure, technology, and information systems.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in engineering, management, or related studies
  • 10+ years of experience leading Financial and People systems teams
  • Deep experience in implementing Financial and People applications, such as Oracle Financials, Workday, and other related systems
  • Experience identifying, baselining, and tracking KPIs
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced, dynamic, and high-growth environment
