The Director of Finance will serve as a key financial leader responsible for overseeing certain financial operations, reporting, and strategic planning for the organization. This role reports directly to the Vice President of Finance and plays a critical role in supporting the team's football and stadium operations, including the following responsibilities and opportunities: Responsibilities : Determine appropriate revenue recognition timing and allocation methods for unique sports industry arrangements in areas such as ticket sales, concessions, merchandise and sponsorship Oversee accounting for variable consideration and related complexities in sponsorship deals Ensure proper treatment of deferred revenue and contract liabilities across multiple performance obligations Serve as the primary authority on complex accounting standards, including ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition) and ASC 842 (Leases) Ensure compliance with league-specific financial reporting requirements and regulations Serve as technical accounting resource for other finance team members and department heads Manage cash flow processes, including cash forecasting and debt management, to support operational needs and capital projects Manage relationships with external auditors and technical accounting consultants Support CFO and management with special projects as needed Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; CPA preferred At least 5 years of finance experience, public accounting experience preferred; ideal candidate also has experience working in professional sports and can demonstrate an understanding of the complexities surrounding accounting in the sports industry Thorough understanding of financial reporting requirements and GAAP accounting Prior experience with sophisticated Excel-based analysis Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines Excellent communication skills with ability to present complex financial information clearly Proven ability to work collaboratively across departments High level of discretion when handling confidential financial and player information Passion for professional football and understanding of the sports business landscape NO PHONE CALLS OR EMAILS, PLEASE.
