The Director of Field Technologies will own the end-to-end management of technology deployments for Sitemetric’s customers. This role blends project management, technical expertise, and customer engagement to ensure every deployment delivers maximum value and positions Sitemetric as a trusted partner. The ideal candidate has a strong technical foundation, experience leading large-scale projects, and the ability to collaborate across sales, customer success, and site logistics teams.

You'll be responsible for creating deployment experiences that reflect our "boots on the ground" philosophy—combining cutting-edge sensor technologies with the hands-on, practical approach that construction professionals expect. This role requires a proven leader who can establish comprehensive field service capabilities from the ground up, including IoT deployment strategies, enterprise implementation programs, and technology optimization initiatives tailored to the unique demands of construction and industrial environments.

About the Role

As the Director of Field Technologies, you will lead the planning and execution of customer technology deployments, ensuring projects are delivered on time and with maximum impact. You’ll act as both a project manager and technical subject matter expert, guiding customers through configuration, training, and adoption of Sitemetric and partner solutions.

This role requires strong customer engagement skills, from collaborating with executives to working alongside IT and field teams. Ultimately, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring Sitemetric delivers exceptional outcomes and long-term value to its customers.

Key Responsibilities

This position reports to the VP, Customer Success and works across the entire organization and includes the following responsibilities:

Team Management & Leadership

  • Hire, train, manage and coach a team of field technicians and project managers across multiple geographic regions
  • Conduct regular one-on-ones, performance reviews, and skills development sessions
  • Lead regular team meetings and ensure consistent service delivery standards
  • Foster a high-performing, customer-obsessed culture that prioritizes ownership and responsiveness
  • Support recruitment and onboarding of new team members in partnership with HR

Project Management

  • Lead a team of project managers for customer accounts, leading the full deployment process from kickoff through go-live.
  • Ensure deployments are delivered on schedule, within scope, and exceed customer expectations.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, external partners, and vendors to keep projects moving seamlessly.

Implementation & System Configuration

  • Develop expert-level knowledge of Sitemetric’s platform as well as partner equipment (e.g., turnstiles) and technologies (e.g., surveillance cameras).
  • Provide technical leadership, guidance, and best practices to customers and internal teams.
  • Translate customer requirements into tailored configurations that align with operational needs and business goals.

Customer and Partner Engagement

  • Act as the primary post-sales contact for customers, from C-level executives to IT and operations leaders.
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with customers and partners, ensuring confidence in Sitemetric’s technology and services.
  • Represent Sitemetric as a technical evangelist at customer meetings, partner engagements, and industry events.

Process Improvement & Quality Assurance

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve SOPs that standardize field processes, ensure service quality, and support compliance requirements.
  • Lead initiatives to optimize and automate existing processes through technology integration, reducing manual effort and improving operational efficiency.
  • Maintain knowledge base and ensure team has access to current technical information
  • Conduct site audits throughout the project lifecycle to ensure all equipment and technologies are operating within specification.

Training and Education

  • Deliver training sessions to customers and partners on how to best use Sitemetric and partner solutions.
  • Develop educational resources and documentation that drive product adoption.
  • Stay current on product updates and emerging technologies, serving as a knowledge hub for the team and customers.

Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution

  • Proactively identify, diagnose, and resolve deployment issues.
  • Lead escalation efforts for critical customer challenges, ensuring rapid resolution and clear communication.
  • Document and share solutions to improve future deployments.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in field services, project management, or technical deployment leadership in a SaaS, IoT, or enterprise technology environment.
  • Strong knowledge of physical security systems, IoT platforms, or construction technology preferred.
  • Proven track record of managing complex customer deployments and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders (C-level to field operators).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve issues under pressure.
  • PMP or similar project management certification is a plus.
  • Understanding of OSHA and other construction industry regulations.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.

Additional Information

The base pay for this position ranges from $150,000 to $185,000 per year. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and jobsite upon which work is being performed, and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, credentials, and experience.
