Reporting to the Vice President of Global Security, the Director, Executive Security Services (ESS) will be responsible for leading and executing a comprehensive executive security strategy to protect Johnson & Johnson's associates, senior leadership, including the CEO, the Executive Committee, and the Board of Directors. The role encompasses security management of special events, executive protection, threat assessment, risk management, and coordination of security and intelligence efforts aligned with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the Executive Protection program, ensuring 24/7 coverage and rapid response capabilities.
Develop and enforce executive protection policies aligned with company values and legal standards.
Serve as a key advisor to executive leadership on matters related to personal safety, reputational risk, and emergency preparedness.
Supervise and develop a team of executive protection specialists and contracted security personnel.
Establish training standards, operational guidelines, and performance metrics.
Oversee travel logistics, advance planning, route analysis, and site assessments for domestic and international trips.
Develop and implement plans for executive protection, including residential security, ground transportation security, in-office security, and event security.
Collaborate with corporate security and intelligence teams to monitor global risks, geopolitical developments, and other threats.
Manage threat investigations and coordinate with law enforcement and intelligence agencies.
Partner with internal stakeholders, including Legal, HR, Communications, Facilities, Global Events, and Corporate Business Travel entities to ensure alignment of protection protocols with company objectives.
Coordinate with 3rd party vendors to develop and enhance various security technology tools and services.
Oversee the appearance, operation, maintenance, and service of company vehicles used for executive protection.
Budget management (overseeing resources allocated for executive protection).
Training (ensure ongoing skills and readiness within the team).
Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Criminal Justice, Security Management, International Relations, or related fields.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate security management or law enforcement is required.
A minimum of 5 years of people leadership experience is required.
Prior experience managing close protection teams, intelligence gathering, and threat assessments.
Demonstrated success executing and managing international security activities, high-profile event security, and VIP travel.
Valid driver’s license and passport; ability to travel.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle high-profile situations with sound judgment.
Armed/concealed carry.
Executive Protection Certification(s), such as EPS and CPP from ASIS International, is a plus.
Prior public/private sector experience involving security of events, senior leadership protection, and/or corporate security experience is preferred.
Other: This position may require up to 30% domestic and international travel.

Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).
