Role Overview We are looking for a strategic, highly organized, and results-driven Director of Events to lead and execute MX’s event marketing strategy. This role is pivotal in shaping how we engage with customers, partners, and the broader financial ecosystem through experiences that are bold, brand-aligned, and high impact. This person will oversee all aspects of event strategy and execution—including proprietary MX events, industry trade shows, thought leadership forums, partner activations, and internal team events. You’ll collaborate across marketing, sales, product, and executive teams to amplify MX’s brand and drive measurable pipeline and partner engagement. Key Responsibilities Strategy & Planning Own the end-to-end event marketing strategy to support awareness, demand generation, partner engagement, and customer retention.
Develop and manage an annual events calendar, prioritizing based on business goals and ROI.
Work with marketing and sales leadership to define key success metrics.
Event Execution Lead the planning, production, and execution of MX-hosted events including our annual flagship summit, customer roundtables, and partner forums.
Oversee MX’s presence at third-party conferences including Money20/20, Finovate, and other fintech and banking events.
Ensure a consistent brand experience and message across all touchpoints—virtual, in-person, and hybrid.
Team & Vendor Management Manage external vendors, contractors, agencies, and venue partners to deliver polished, high-impact experiences.
Collaborate with internal creative, content, and product marketing teams for event storytelling and promotional campaigns.
Supervise event staff and logistics coordinators as needed.
Budget & ROI Own the events budget and track spend against performance goals.
Build post-event reports with clear performance metrics (e.g., registrations, engagement, influenced pipeline, partner feedback).
Basic Qualifications 8+ years of relevant experience in event marketing, field marketing, or experiential marketing—preferably in B2B tech, SaaS, or fintech.
Experience leading both small-scale and large-scale events (100–5,000+ attendees).
Budget management experience, with an analytical mindset to measure impact and optimize future performance.
Experience with marketing tools (e.g., Salesforce, Marketo, Asana, Cvent, or similar).
Preferred Qualifications 10+ years of experience in leadership
Recognized expert in the industry via speaking engagements and similar events
Experience planning and executing events within the fintech, banking, or financial services sector.
Background in integrated campaign execution with content and demand gen teams.
Familiarity with CX- or UX-focused activations that drive engagement and brand loyalty.
