The Director – Environmental, Health & Safety (Director, EHS Global Engineering & Service) is responsible for providing leadership, guidance and support to Advanced Energy’s engineering and service locations globally – ensuring that the company has the necessary culture, processes, systems, tools and resources to operate in a sustainable, safe and environmentally responsible manner. The Director, EHS leads the company’s global EHS team supporting engineering and service locations, and works closely with leaders, in-country/local EHS professionals to drive continuous improvements in safety performance and the reinforcement of a positive and sustainable safety culture to collaborate and influence employees to comply with Legal requirements, EHS policies and procedures and drive reduction in electrical risk. Position reports to the VP, Global EHS & Sustainability and is based in Fort Collins, Colorado as an in-office role. RESPONSIBILITIES: Work collaboratively across the different business units and locations to develop a consistent global environmental, health & safety culture, standardized systems and processes to support overall company objectives.
Educate management and functional business owners on the importance of risk prevention and cultivate a safety-first culture by focusing on comprehensive risk assessments and electrical shock prevention.
Collaborate with Corporate EHS to implement Corporate EHS Management System at Global Engineering and Service locations.
Provide guidance to Global Engineering and Service EHS team members on changes in local, state, and federal regulations and manages safety training, reporting, and budgeting
Work with local EHS teams and business leaders to establish processes to identify and analyze factors that are creating workplace injuries and implement effective control measures
Develop and monitor the education and development of employees to increase proficiency and compliance with established company safety and environmental processes and regulatory requirements
Utilize and monitor key safety and environmental metrics to monitor processes for corrective action as needed and ensure the Company’s EHS data collection systems are effectively utilized.
Enhance and maintain emergency response support; planning, training, and act as incident commander in times of crisis and environmental emergencies WORK ENVIRONMENT: Works in standard office environment which is normally fast paced.
Uses general office equipment.
Travel is required to AE Global Sites up to 50% of the time. QUALIFICATIONS: Engineer with strong experience in electrical risk reduction
An active hands-on leader who earns trust, inspires their team, builds collaborative relationships, and leads by example
Serves as an advocate for a positive safety culture fostering an engagement and feedback rich environment
Committed to educational campaigns promoting EHS initiatives and learning opportunities
Proven leadership skills including the ability to advocate for, coach, develop and mentor EH&S staff
Ability to influence all levels of management and employees to educate, garner buy-in and ultimately gain approval to move EH&S initiatives forward
Strong communicator including interpersonal, written, verbal, and presentation skills; proficient with risk communications and media relations EXPERIENCE: Minimum 10+ years of experience in environmental, health and safety within a global / multinational organization, with 5+ years in a leadership capacity
Experience in the industrial, electronic or semiconductor industry with knowledge of evaluating risk and controlling hazardous materials and conditions
Ability to communicate with a wide variety of people and influence action
Experience working closely with internal management groups globally and ability to provide direction and support as well as monitoring for results
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or other EHS certifications preferred EDUCATION: Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Engineering COMPENSATION:
As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $160,000 to $200,000 per year. BENEFITS:
