Position Overview The Director of Enterprise Quality & Configuration Management will lead the quality and configuration management functions across all QinetiQ U.S. entities. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this strategic role ensures compliance with product quality, certification, contractual requirements, and configuration management across all programs. The role focuses on customer-centric solutions, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and requires collaboration across internal teams, suppliers, and customers in the Aerospace & Defense sector. Responsibilities Lead and execute the enterprise-wide strategy for Quality & Configuration Management, aligning with organizational goals and driving improvements in product quality, compliance, and performance. Establish and drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to enhance operational effectiveness. Manage compliance across all U.S. entities, ensuring adherence to contractual, regulatory, and quality standards, including certifications like AS9100D, ISO9001:2015 and CMMI-SVC ML3. Ensure robust configuration management practices with data integrity, traceability, and contractual compliance. Develop and empower a geographically dispersed, high-performing team through mentorship and performance management. Build and maintain relationships with key customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and collaboration; demonstrate a track record of successful quality program implementations. Serve as a trusted advisor to the executive team, providing strategic insights and facilitating cross-functional solutions. Location: on-site in Franklin, MA, with occasional travel to corporate offices in MA, VA, NC, FL, PA and to various customer/supplier locations. Up to 25% domestic travel, with occasional international travel as required. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field with 10+ years of relevant experience in Aerospace & Defense Quality and Configuration Management. Proven leadership experience with responsibility for driving quality outcomes and program compliance. Experience delivering executive-level briefings and articulating complex QA/CM strategies. Experience leading cross-functional, matrix teams to achieve objectives and foster collaboration. Strong track record of leading geographically dispersed teams and developing talent. Background in manufacturing, production, and government services with deep knowledge of QMS, supplier management, and requirements flow-down. Proficient in Root Cause Analysis, Corrective Action, and quality tools and methodologies. Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. Self-starter, critical thinker, and results-driven leader in dynamic environments. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Management, or related field. Extensive knowledge of Quality & Configuration Management disciplines (AS9100D, ISO 9001:2015, CMMI). Ability to influence cross-functional teams to achieve KPIs and operational plans. Experience with DoD customers and government contract requirements (e.g., DFARS, DCMA). Strong leadership to motivate teams and drive transformational initiatives. Experience in strategic planning and long-term company-wide improvements.
