As the Director - Defined Contribution Lifetime Income Product, you will lead efforts to implement innovative Defined Contribution Lifetime Income product initiatives and provide strategic and tactical leadership to Pacific Life's growth and long-term success. Responsibilities Lead a team responsible for defining DCLI product features, scheduling, sequencing, and allocation of resources to ensure seamless product project execution and implementation of retirement income solutions. Oversee and partner with Product Managers and collaborate with key division and enterprise functions such as Business Delivery, Compliance, Marketing, Operations and Technology to prioritize product initiatives. Oversee general retirement and DCLI market research efforts and stay informed on industry trends. Maintain strong relationships with National Markets to support distribution efforts and ensure the product is connected to market needs. Perform ideation and cost-benefit analysis for innovative retirement income product creation. Design, build, and maintain retirement income solutions with understanding of market dynamics, regulatory requirements, and competitive landscape. Ensure DCLI product development aligns with customer value and speed to market, collaborating across Division and Enterprise to enhance process efficiency and outcomes. Oversee delivery of DCLI products and features according to agreed schedules, ensuring they meet customer needs and business objectives, with focus on compliance considerations. Coordinate resources, address implementation challenges, and manage internal stakeholder landscape to meet product goals in a timely and efficient manner. Collaborate with DC Product Pricing Actuaries to design and evaluate innovative insurance products and pricing strategies. Provide retirement and DCLI market insights and customer analytics to inform pricing assumptions and support data-driven solutions with the Pricing team. Drive creation of technical specifications for admin and illustration systems and perform user-acceptance testing to ensure accurate implementation. Advise the Head of Defined Contribution Lifetime Income on strategic decisions and counsel the team on product development and delivery matters. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field. Experience in financial services with focus on product, strategy, and/or business development roles. Extensive knowledge of the Defined Contribution market. Experience in Group Retirement and/or Individual Annuity market. Deep experience in product development and/or product delivery. Ability to influence, partner and collaborate with divisional stakeholders and senior leaders. Strong desire for collaboration and ability to think creatively. Demonstrated ability to lead and grow team members. Standout Qualifications Actuarial background preferred. Deep knowledge of DC plans, lifetime income product types, and competitor landscape. Experience with individual annuity products (VA, GLWB, FIA, SPIA/DIA, RILA). Up-to-date with DCLI industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes. Experience with retirement plan advisors, plan sponsors/administrators, asset managers, and managed accounts. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to operate in ambiguity. Excellent leadership and ability to motivate and inspire others. Agile mindset with ability to deliver results in a dynamic environment. Compelling presentation skills. Advanced certifications or industry licensing (ASA, FSA, EA, CFA, MBA, etc.).
