About The Role The Data Intelligence & Analytics (DnA) team sits at the heart of The Walt Disney Company’s streaming ecosystem—driving business decisions for Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN through analytics, data science, and experimentation. The Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) Streaming Analytics vertical within DnA seeks a Director to lead our Commerce Experimentation and Churn Analytics teams, helping the business understand and mitigate both voluntary and involuntary subscriber churn. In this role you will lead and inspire a high-performing team and foster a culture of collaboration, curiosity, and impact. This highly visible position requires distilling complex data into clear, compelling narratives and strategic insights, partnering closely with business teams across the Disney Entertainment and Product & Technology businesses.
Responsibilities Become an expert in understanding subscriber churn by partnering with Finance, Business Operations, Strategy, Marketing, and Product to measure, track, and understand drivers and trends of both voluntary and involuntary churn.
Work with Commerce Product partners to design and run experiments to drive subscriber growth and mitigate churn through launching new global payment methods, optimizing payment recovery, and identifying and mitigating subscriber fraud.
Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing team of analytics professionals within the DnA organization.
Build strong relationships with cross-functional stakeholders and executive leadership to influence decisions through data-driven storytelling.
Shape and prioritize team roadmaps ensuring alignment with business goals.
Develop analytical frameworks to understand business trends and unlock new insights that drive strategy and decision-making.
Conduct and oversee deep-dive analyses to understand drivers of key business metrics.
Synthesize complex data into actionable insights and communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or related quantitative field.
12+ years in analytics or data science roles, with at least 5 years leading high-performing teams.
Expertise in SQL and hands-on experience with data visualization and reporting tools (Tableau or Looker).
Strong business acumen and experience applying analytics to support business strategy, user growth, retention, and product performance—preferably in media.
Experience designing, implementing, and measuring the impact of A/B tests; familiarity with statistical modeling and predictive analytics.
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present complex analyses and influence senior leadership through storytelling.
Collaborative, intellectually curious, and results-oriented, with the ability to translate business needs into scalable, data-driven solutions.
Proven success operating in dynamic, matrixed organizations with multiple stakeholders and priorities.
Desired Qualifications Experience in the streaming media industry and/or supporting a direct-to-consumer or subscription-based product.
Experience in global billing, payments, and/or fraud domains.
Familiarity with Python or R for statistical modeling.
Experience with ML techniques and proficiency with statistical analysis tools (Python, R, Weka, or similar).

The hiring range for this position in Santa Monica and Los Angeles, CA is $184,300-$247,100 per year. The base pay offered will reflect internal equity and may vary based on geography, knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
