Director, Corporate Compliance & Ethics

LHH is recruiting a Director, Corporate Compliance & Ethics for a Cleveland company. The Director, Corporate Compliance & Ethics supports the management and enhancement of the global legal and ethical compliance requirements and procedures. The position report to the Chief Legal Counsel and provides guidance to the Export Compliance Manager. The Director, Corporate Compliance & Ethics is responsible for developing and presenting compliance updates to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors.
Responsibilities:
Provide day-to-day Compliance Program management, in particular regarding compliance on export controls, anti-bribery, antitrust, anti-money laundering and conflict minerals
Initiate and drive home compliance initiatives and monitor progress
Periodically revise and update Compliance Program policies and procedures, including the Code of Conduct
Manage online and personal training of all employees on compliance matters
Maintain records of all policies, training and communications to demonstrate compliance initiatives
Provide oversight to and assists the Export Compliance Manager
Assist the Law Department with internal investigations
Compile reports of issues raised, investigations conducted, findings and recommendations, action plans established and progress noted
Conduct periodic surveys and audits to assess compliance effectiveness
Identify areas of improvement of current program • Participate in meetings with the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors in annual updates regarding the Compliance Program
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and, preferably extensive training in corporate compliance matters
Minimum 5 years of demonstrated ability performing in a compliance function for a manufacturing business
Understanding of U.S. export control regulations including: U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) Export Administration Regulations (EAR), U.S. Department of State (DOS) International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), Department of Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and the Department of Energy (DOE) regulations as the pertain to the company's products and services
Understanding of company's Code of Conduct and other relevant Code of Conduct requirements including, but not limited to: antitrust compliance, anti-bribery compliance, government contract compliance, anti-money laundering compliance, conflict mineral compliance, as well as material legal requirements in foreign locations where the company has offices or facilities
Thorough understanding of Department of State, Department of Commerce and Nuclear Regulatory regulations as applicable to the company's products and services

Pay Details: $140,000.00 to $180,000.00 per year
