Join to apply for the Director, Continuous Improvement role at FreshRealm The Realmians Business Systems (RBS) will be an integral part of the way we run our manufacturing sites and functional areas, serving every customer, every day, everywhere. Under the direction of the Vice President (RBS), this role focuses on creating, supporting and assisting the improvement efforts tied to the company’s most critical business processes. Primary areas of focus include the improvement of all Functions including Supply Chain, Operations, Business Development, Marketing, Human Resources, Information Technology, Finance, and Legal. Deep analysis of processes, diagnosing operational challenges, and implementing process and system changes drive continuous improvement and breakthrough performance. Our operating model aims to positively impact results and culture by establishing standards, institutionalizing daily management processes, adopting consistent problem solving methods and learning by doing. As part of the RBS program of Lean Management, the candidate will build an action plan to implement tools, identify opportunities and launch processes. The role will help define the lean culture and change management programs to embed in the organization. The candidate will drive the implementation of the RBS including daily management, metrics, and problem solving cadence, working with all functions to address KPIs and alignment to core value drivers (CVD). The role will also drive the implementation of a lean certification program to standardize lean principles and practices across the organization. The position can be remote but requires at least 50% travel based on location. Major Duties And Responsibilities Assist leadership in the development and execution of an RBS Roadmap to drive sustainable improvement across the business and establish the RBS as a benchmark in the industry. Lead, facilitate and co-facilitate targeted kaizen events, improvement workshops and projects aligned to Strategy Deployment (SD) and KPIs to drive significant, sustainable results using Lean tools and change management processes. Identify gaps and opportunities with cross-functional teams and drive them through to completion using lean toolsets. Partner with all functions to create world-class processes, define capabilities, assess gaps and develop gap-closure plans. Train and lead effective problem solving; drive breakthrough improvements in process capability and reengineer processes to reduce cost and increase productivity. Define and implement process improvements on key initiatives that improve service delivery and organizational effectiveness. Mentor and develop potential lean practitioners through Kaizen events and projects to drive business change. Engage operational teams to set goals around Lean initiatives and drive daily management in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People. Facilitate, train, and coach team members in the use of Lean tools; share best practices across the organization. Partner with Finance to incorporate kaizen and project savings into long-range financial plans and budgets. Skills And Requirements Prior experience deploying lean methods in operations and functions. Experience leading and developing training, processes and systems using kaizens, A3 problem solving, X Matrix, daily management and lean toolsets. Ability to manage multiple kaizens and projects simultaneously; capable of working as a team member or leader. Strong KPIs experience; customer-focused with the ability to influence and communicate at all levels. Driven, determined, externally focused and future-oriented; independent worker in fast-moving environments. Strong functional experience and commercial business acumen; excellent training, consulting and change management skills. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build deep relationships; quick study and culture ambassador. Demonstrates urgency and personal ownership of business performance; hands-on and detail-oriented while seeing the big picture.
