The Director, Compliance, will focus on maintaining a robust compliance framework that effectively mitigates risks, supports operational efficiency and ensures regulatory requirements are met at all levels of the Company. This position will report to AssuranceAmerica’s Vice President/Associate General Counsel.

Each day at AssuranceAmerica is different, but as Director, Compliance in Legal , you will: Manage AssuranceAmerica’s Compliance Program to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations governing property and casualty insurance. Monitor evolving regulatory requirements related to property and casualty insurance and advise Senior Leadership on regulatory changes, risks, and the impact of new laws or rules. Conduct periodic compliance risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and establish effective mitigation strategies. Ensure compliance risks are assessed across all areas of operations, including product, underwriting, claims, and distribution channels. Research applicable laws and develop and maintain policies, procedures, and controls to minimize compliance risks across all business lines. Manage other strategic priorities as determined by the Vice President, Associate General Counsel. Required Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of experience in compliance within the property and casualty insurance industry. In-depth knowledge of property and casualty insurance regulations, including but not limited to state insurance codes, NAIC standards, and applicable federal regulations (e.g., GLBA, HIPAA, TCPA). Strong understanding of the insurance product lifecycle, from underwriting and policy issuance to claims handling. Proven ability to assess risks, develop compliance strategies, and manage cross-functional teams. Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentations skills, with the ability to effectively engage with Senior Management, regulators, and employees. Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Preferred Certification as a Compliance Professional (CRCM, Are, etc.) or other relevant certifications. Experience with compliance management software or tools. Previous experience with minimum limits auto insurance. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times. Must be able to navigate various departments of the organization's physical premises.
