As the Personal Care Solutions (PCS) Sales Director, you will lead the commercial activities for your assigned customers. Your responsibilities include developing and executing key account sales and pricing plans, building a new customer pipeline, resolving issues throughout the order-to-cash cycle, and working within a high-performing cross-functional team.
You should demonstrate the ability to "sell the plan" to customers and "plan the sale" with internal teams such as R&D, Manufacturing, and Procurement. Experience working in an integrated, multi-site environment with varying levels of integration is essential.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business-to-business sales, with a solid understanding of sophisticated customer buying processes, negotiation tactics, and systems. You should be a likable leader who can achieve results and is willing to engage actively with internal teams and customers.
Key qualities include being results-oriented, possessing customer management, leadership, and analytical skills, and being a strong communicator capable of maintaining long-lasting relationships with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute plans for key accounts and divisions to meet annual budgets and take remedial actions when needed to ensure gross margin commitments.
Build and maintain a pipeline of current and new customer growth and margin opportunities, continuously prioritizing initiatives.
Collaborate with R&D to develop outbound innovation plans for select customers and present these strategies with strategic selling materials.
Partner with Procurement and Manufacturing to plan capacity, contribute to supply and demand planning, and address supply/demand gaps.
Work with the Product Strategy Director to leverage PLZ’s personal care expertise in developing customer sales presentations.
Coordinate with the Project Leadership team to communicate customer requirements and inform customers of PLZ’s capabilities and timelines.
Report progress against plans periodically to leadership.
This is a senior customer management position working with internal teams and senior leadership.
Additional responsibilities as needed based on business requirements.
Travel approximately 20% for car and air travel.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of sales management and leadership experience in large ($500m) businesses and smaller, fast-growth companies.
Experience in consumer packaged goods and make-to-order selling is required.
Knowledge of the Personal Care or contract manufacturing industry is preferred.
Exceptional customer management, negotiation skills, and ability to manage ongoing change for growth and margin improvement.
Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
Results-oriented with strong business acumen and a data-driven mindset.
Excellent presentation skills, capable of synthesizing and communicating effectively to teams and leadership.
Ability to work effectively in diverse, remote, and multi-location teams and operate independently.

Excellent oral and written communication skills for building relationships with peers and colleagues.
Strong organizational skills to manage and prioritize tasks.

Compensation:
The base salary ranges from $130,000 to $180,000 annually, depending on geographic location, knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional compensation and benefits, including medical, financial, and other benefits, may be provided as part of the total package.
