Description
The Director of Clinical Pharmacy Operations will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight to a remote team of clinical pharmacists delivering comprehensive medication management (CMM) services. This role is accountable for maintaining day-to-day delivery of the CMM program while driving engagement, retention, and clinical outcomes aligned to our mission. The Director will ensure the efficient and effective delivery of services, while optimizing workflows, tracking performance, and contributing to total cost of care reduction.
In addition to leading pharmacist operations, this role will play a key part in the development and enablement of scalable clinical programs-helping to shape workflows, training, quality processes, and infrastructure to support future growth, including expansion into Medicare, HEDIS, and broader clinical disciplines.
This individual will be a collaborative leader with strong clinical, operational, and strategic capabilities, and will serve as a critical partner in supporting an exceptional end-to-end experience for participants on their health journey.
Responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership and daily operational oversight to a remote team of Clinical Pharmacists delivering CMM services
Ensure effective execution of pharmacist-led services, including medication optimization strategies that prioritize safety, efficacy, and affordability
Monitor team performance and KPIs to support clinical outcomes, healthcare utilization reduction, and total cost of care savings
Lead process improvement efforts across workflows, documentation, and system optimization to support scalable, high-quality service delivery
Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure a coordinated participant experience and aligned program execution
Support development of scalable clinical workflows, protocols, training materials, and QA processes in partnership with Program Development, Clinical Quality, and Learning & Development
Contribute to infrastructure design and operational readiness for future clinical expansion, including Medicare, HEDIS gap closure, Star rating improvement, and value-based care models
Ensure compliance with regulatory, contractual, and accreditation requirements
Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback to team members
Identify training needs and coordinate development opportunities
Develop and maintain clinical and operational policies and procedures
Analyze performance trends to identify opportunities for improvement and standardization
Serve as a preceptor for Pharmacy Residents and College of Pharmacy students, as applicable
Obtain and maintain appropriate state licensure
Other duties as assigned to help fulfill our mission
Position Requirements
Required: Doctor of Pharmacy from an accredited pharmacy school
Minnesota Licensed Pharmacist in good standing (no prior or current disciplinary actions)
5+ years of experience as a Clinical Pharmacist and/or providing Comprehensive Medication Management (CMM)
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience leading clinical or healthcare call center operations, with a focus on performance management, workforce optimization, and engagement
At least 3+ years of experience in a leadership or people management role, preferably within a clinical pharmacy or healthcare setting
3+ years managing remote or geographically dispersed teams
Working knowledge of best practices in medication therapy management and healthcare operations
Demonstrated ability to analyze performance and clinical data, interpret trends, and apply insights to inform strategic, operational, and clinical decisions
Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic and evolving environment
Comfort with navigating ambiguity, leading change, and solving complex problems
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred: ASHP-accredited?residency in Ambulatory Care
Board Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacist (BCACP)
ACCP Comprehensive Medication Management (CMM) Implementation Certificate or equivalent
Experience with HEDIS measures, including strategies to close care gaps and improve Star ratings.
Background in case management or care coordination, particularly in a clinical or managed care setting.
