The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills, and professional experience. Job Overview: Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, NJ is looking for a qualified individual for the Director of the Central Sterile Supply department. Qualifications: Preferred Bachelor's in Nursing or other health care related degree and a minimum of 7 years progressively responsible Sterile Processing experience in an acute care hospital setting, Preferred minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience in Central Processing or Perioperative Services with a Bachelor's health-related degree OR required 15 years of progressive Sterile Processing experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role, Required high school diploma or equivalent, CRCST or CBSPD certification required, CIS- Certified Instrument Specialist required, CHL- Certified Healthcare Leader required within 1 year, Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Scheduling Requirements: Days to work Full-Time Schedule Essential Functions: Develop, implement, and monitor department goals and objectives, Provide strong team leadership, motivate staff, and respond to individual and team needs, Develop a strong team culture and manage staff conflicts appropriately, Collaborate with physicians, Service Line Managers, OR staff, administrative staff, and others, Lead and facilitate team meetings, Engage in personal development: set outcomes, seek resources or learning, accept feedback, Plan time, organize workload, and delegate effectively, Align departmental goals with hospital-wide objectives and priorities, Support and participate in the Magnet Recognition process, Maintain clinical skills and stay updated with sterile processing developments, Ensure compliance with standards set by regulatory agencies such as JCAHO, NJ DOH, OSHA, and AAMI, Oversee procedures for decontamination, cleaning, processing, and sterilization of instruments and equipment, Manage hospital-wide reprocessing functions, including collection, transport, decontamination, packaging, sterilization, disinfection, storage, and distribution, Monitor and maintain sterilization records according to guidelines, Coordinate repairs, refurbishments, and replacements of instruments and equipment collaboratively with Biomedical Engineering, Participate in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring processes with HR, Manage performance issues with effective discipline, provide timely feedback and evaluations, Promote effective communication and staff satisfaction, address concerns promptly, Develop and manage the department’s salary and non-salary budgets, Allocate resources to meet workload demands, explain variances to VP, Perioperative Services and Finance, Plan for capital purchases and replacements, Identify cost-saving opportunities and analyze equipment and inventory spending patterns.
