About the Job:
The Director of Central Business Office is responsible for overseeing all aspects of insurance claim submission, payer follow-up, denial management, appeals, and cash posting for both technical and professional claims throughout Elliot Health System. This leadership role ensures efficient business office operations through the development and monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs), staff productivity, and quality standards. The Director will lead cross-functional initiatives to reduce denials, accelerate cash flow, and optimize reimbursement through data-driven strategies and continuous process improvement. Collaboration with internal business partners is essential to surface trends, share insights, and drive systemic improvements across the organization.
What You’ll Do:
Direct and optimize the end-to-end submission of insurance claims for both technical and professional services, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with payer requirements
Lead teams responsible for tracking unpaid claims, identifying bottlenecks, and driving resolution of outstanding accounts receivable through proactive payer engagement
Develop and maintain denial tracking systems, analyze trends, and implement targeted interventions to reduce denial rates and improve first-pass resolution
Supervise the appeals process for denied claims, ensuring proper documentation, clinical input when needed, and timely submission of appeals to maximize recoveries
Ensure accurate and timely posting of all insurance payments and adjustments, including reconciliation of deposits to expected reimbursements and identification of payment variances

Who You Are:
Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, Business, or related field, Required
7+ years of experience with progressive healthcare business office responsibilities, Required
3+ years of direct supervisory experience, Required
Experience with reporting tools such as Tableau or PowerBI, Required
