The Director, Center for Nursing Research , provides strategic and operational leadership for nursing research across Orlando Health. This role supports the organization's Magnet® designation and professional practice model by advancing evidence-based practice, fostering a culture of inquiry, and integrating research into clinical operations. The Director ensures alignment with enterprise-wide goals for innovation, safety, and excellence in patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute strategic plans for nursing research in alignment with Orlando Health's mission and Magnet® standards. Provide administrative oversight of the clinical nursing research program, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and Institutional Review Board (IRB) standards. Mentor nurses in research design, evidence-based practice, and quality improvement initiatives. Lead the dissemination of research findings through publications, presentations, and internal education forums. Collaborate with nursing, medical, operational, and academic leaders to integrate research into clinical practice and policy development. Secure internal and external funding to support research initiatives and enhance institutional recognition. Serve as a representative on the IRB and chair the Nursing Research Committee. Establish academic partnerships to support graduate nursing student research and clinical rotations. Promote a culture of inquiry through mentorship, grand rounds, and professional development opportunities. Maintain compliance with all Orlando Health policies and uphold the organization's values and standards of excellence. Drives system-wide improvements in patient outcomes through evidence-based practice and research. Enhances Orlando Health's reputation through academic contributions, grant funding, and scholarly dissemination. Informs clinical policy and innovation through strategic integration of research into operations. Attracts and retains top nursing talent by fostering a robust research environment and supporting professional growth. Collaborates with enterprise leaders to ensure nursing research has visibility and influence at the executive level. Qualifications
Education/Training Bachelor's degree in Nursing required. Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate in Nursing or related specialty (excluding DNP) required.
Licensure Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida.
Required Experience Minimum of five (5) years related experience, including at least three (3) years in a leadership role. Demonstrated success in conducting and funding clinical nursing research. Proven leadership in academic-clinical partnerships and research dissemination.
