Position Summary
Reporting to the Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs and Undergraduate Education, the Director of the Center for Career and Professional Development is the university's primary champion for student career readiness and post-graduate success. The Director provides visionary leadership and strategic direction for career education, building a robust career ecosystem that connects students, faculty, alumni, and employers. The Director will be responsible for integrating career development through curricular and co-curricular opportunities. This individual will move the university beyond a traditional service model to one where career education is woven into the fabric of the student experience, ensuring every graduate is equipped with the skills, experiences, and self-awareness for professional success and ongoing growth. The Director leads a dedicated team to develop innovative programs, cultivate strategic partnerships, and use data to tell the story of our students' outcomes.
Essential Duties
Strategic Leadership and Curricular Integration
Champion and lead the implementation of the university's strategic goal to embed career development across all curricular and co-curricular experiences.
Partner proactively with School leadership to integrate career competencies and industry-specific knowledge directly into academic courses, projects, and departmental programming.
Support center staff serving as liaisons to the Schools in their work with faculty on developing assignments and learning outcomes that enhance students' marketable skills.
Establish and lead a campus-wide advisory council on career education, involving faculty, staff, employers, and alumni to guide strategy and ensure relevance.
Implement a comprehensive, five-year framework for student career development that aligns academic pathways with professional aspirations.
Implement a career readiness assessment plan.
Operations, Assessment, and Technology Lead, mentor, and supervise a high-performing team of career services professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and student-centered excellence.
Leverage career services management platforms and other technologies to streamline operations, enhance student engagement, and capture critical data.
Establish and track key performance indicators for student engagement and learning outcomes.
Utilize data to conduct ongoing assessment of programs, inform strategic decisions, and effectively communicate the value and impact of the center to internal and external stakeholders.
Coordinate with the provost, registrar and IR offices on the execution of data collection regarding postgraduate outcomes at the undergraduate and graduate level.
Responsibly develop and manage the departmental budget and resources.
Student Engagement and Career Education Oversee the Career Counselor(s) in design and delivery of a holistic suite of career education programs, workshops, and advising services that support all students and alumni.
Lead the provision of services that empower students to explore options, articulate their value, and pursue a wide range of post-graduate outcomes, including employment, graduate/professional school, and entrepreneurship.
Ensure services are inclusive and accessible, implementing strategies that address the unique needs of a diverse student body.
Scale career education through the strategic use of technology, online resources, partnerships with faculty, and peer-to-peer mentoring programs.
Employer and Alumni Engagement Collaborate with the Associate Director of Employer Relations on: Designing and executing a comprehensive employer engagement strategy focused on building deep, multi-faceted partnerships, including expanding recruiting relationships.
Cultivating and expanding a diverse network of employers and community partners to increase high-quality opportunities for experiential learning and employment opportunities
Developing a strategic corporate sponsorship program to support career center initiatives and events.
Collaborate with Alumni Relations/Advancement to build a robust network of alumni mentors, speakers, and advocates who actively participate in the career development of current students.
Secondary Responsibilities Participate actively in university governance through service on committees and other responsibilities assigned by the Associate Provost or the Provost

Required Qualifications Knowledge of and commitment to the mission of La Salle University.
Master's degree in higher education administration, counseling, student affairs, or a related field.
A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in career services, talent acquisition, or a related field, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
Demonstrated success in building collaborative partnerships with faculty, academic departments, and employers.
Knowledge of current trends in the future of work, recruiting, and higher education.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications Experience designing or implementing a program to embed career development into the academic curriculum.
Strong understanding of student development theory and its application to career coaching.
Proficiency in using data and assessment to drive strategy and report on outcomes.
Experience with fundraising, grant writing, or developing corporate sponsorship programs.
Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations in an urban setting
Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours Occasional evening and weekend presence at career and other university events required
