As Director, Business Development - Nonprofit Services, you\'ll be the bridge between nonprofit leaders and the financial infrastructure they need to achieve their mission. This isn\'t a desk job. You\'ll be out in the community, building authentic relationships with Executive Directors, nonprofit leaders, and board members who are passionate about making a difference but often overwhelmed by the financial compliance, audit requirements, and reporting demands that come with running a nonprofit. You\'ll help them see how audit-ready financials, board-ready reporting, and strategic financial guidance can redirect their energy from administrative burden to mission fulfillment. When you connect the right nonprofit with our services, you\'re not just closing a deal—you're enabling them to allocate more dollars to programming, make better strategic decisions, and amplify their community impact. Key Responsibilities Revenue Generation: Build a book of business to ensure organizational growth objectives are met, while exuding the AIOA core Values in all situations. Lead Generation & Outreach: Identify potential nonprofit clients through research, prospecting, and outreach, utilizing tools like LinkedIn and other social platforms, email campaigns, and networking events. Market Analysis: Conduct research on AIOA core industries and markets to identify trends, competitive landscape, and client needs to identify new business opportunities. Relationship Building: Develop and nurture relationships with key stakeholders at various companies, understanding their pain points and matching our solutions to meet their business objectives with an understanding and comprehension of the overall mission of AIOA. Build Community: Join professional networking organizations to represent AIOA to the community. Identify opportunities to join a Board or a cause which you are passionate about. Product Knowledge: Maintain in-depth knowledge of AIOA services, industry trends, and the competitive landscape to effectively communicate our value proposition to prospects. Sales Pipeline Management: Manage the sales cycle from initial contact to close, including conducting discovery calls, assessing client needs, and proposing our services effectively. Sales Targets & Reporting: Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets and regularly update CRM with accurate information on prospect activity, forecasted revenue, and key sales metrics to support the growth of AIOA and inform key team members. Collaboration with Marketing & Operations: Work in a team-oriented environment to develop targeted campaigns, specific messaging, and ensure a seamless transition from sales to onboarding. Continuous Learning: Stay up to date with industry best practices, changes in accounting regulations, and relevant certifications that enhance credibility in the market. Requirements A love of nonprofits and desire to work with them Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting or finance space. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and QuickBooks accounting software desired Solid business development experience in B2B environment Strong negotiation skills with a problem-solving mindset Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an aptitude for building strong client relationships. Ability to address prospect requests in a timely manner and keep matters strictly confidential Ability to work with a dynamic team of seasoned professionals in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism and incorporating fun into the team culture. Compensation Salary Range – $85,000 - $100,000 base + Uncapped Commission Medical, dental, vision, and a variety of supplemental options including 401K, life insurance, long and short term disability, accident, hospitalization, critical illness, HSA, FSA, and dependent care.
