Join to apply for the Director, Brand - Private Brands role at The Guitar Center Company Direct message the job poster from The Guitar Center Company Director, Talent Acquisition at The Guitar Center Company KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The Director, Brand for Private Brands is responsible for defining and executing long-term brand strategies that drive sustainable growth, enhance brand equity, and position the brand competitively in the market. This role will oversee brand development, portfolio optimization, go-to-market planning, and strategic collaboration across business units to meet both short-term revenue goals and long-term strategic objectives. The Director will also play a key role in team development and fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration. Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the following: Strategic Brand Leadership: Build and manage 5-year brand growth plans aligned with company objectives, balancing business needs with market trends and customer insights. Portfolio Management: Lead product lifecycle strategy—optimization, expansion, or discontinuation—based on data analysis, customer feedback, and evolving market dynamics. Pricing & Positioning: Collaborate with merchandising team on pricing strategies and value propositions that maximize revenue and ensure competitive market positioning. Go-to-Market Strategy: Create and guide preliminary go-to-market plans for new categories in partnership with regional and cross-functional stakeholders. Brand Equity & Positioning: Define and own brand positioning, equity, and competitive strategy to strengthen market relevance and long-term value. Integrated Communication: Collaborate with Marketing to develop messaging and communications that support consistent brand storytelling across all channels. Go-to-Market Enablement: Provide partnership and direction on product launch readiness, supporting the development of GTM materials, technical documentation, and consumer-facing content. Cross-Functional Business Collaboration: Partner with Merchandising, Planning, and Finance to align on brand-level business planning, financial goals, and GTM execution. Team Development: Coach, mentor, and inspire team members to foster professional growth and elevate brand performance through strong leadership. Organizational Culture Contribution: Model respectful, inclusive behavior that promotes a positive, engaged culture aligned with company values and vision. To join our band, you'll need the following experience: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; MBA or equivalent experience preferred. 8–10+ years of experience in brand management, product strategy, or related roles within retail or consumer goods. Proven ability to drive brand growth and position products for competitive success. Strong track record in go-to-market execution and cross-functional collaboration. Experience leading and developing high-performing teams. Strong business acumen, with the ability to interpret market data and financial performance metrics. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and strategic thinking skills. Why Guitar Center? Pay Rate: $170,000- $195,000 depending on background and experience.
