Role
Director of Agentic AI Architecture at Rockwell, an influential technical leader responsible for defining, championing, and executing the architectural vision and technical roadmap for cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence initiatives. You will be a hands-on expert while providing strategic guidance, designing and implementing advanced agentic AI systems with autonomy and self-learning capabilities. This role shapes Rockwell\'s AI-powered products and services and requires collaboration with cross-functional executive and technical teams to translate business objectives into scalable, innovative agentic AI solutions.
Responsibilities
- Agentic AI Architectural Vision & Strategy: Define and drive the agentic AI architectural vision and strategy, pioneering and implementing agentic AI systems that push autonomy, self-learning, and complex decision-making.
- Next-Generation Solution Design Leadership: Lead architectural design and implementation of scalable, high-performance agentic AI systems with seamless integration of components and external data sources and tools.
- Technology Leadership: Evaluate and recommend emerging AI/ML technologies, frameworks, and platforms, especially MAS, reinforcement learning, autonomous decision-making, and open standards such as the Model Context Protocol (MCP) for interoperability.
- Scalability and Performance: Design agentic AI systems focusing on scalability, reliability, performance, and cost-efficiency for massive datasets and high traffic.
- Data Architecture: Collaborate with data engineering to define data ingestion, storage, processing, and governance strategies supporting agentic AI development and deployment.
- MLOps for Agentic Systems: Architect robust deployment, monitoring, and management of interacting agents and their collective behavior, including tracking emergent properties and system-level performance.
- Collaboration and Communication: Partner with product managers, engineering leaders, researchers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, present architectural options, and provide technical guidance.
- Technical Guidance and Mentorship: Provide leadership and mentorship to AI/ML engineers and scientists, fostering a culture of innovation.
- Risk Management and Compliance: Identify and mitigate technical risks, ensuring security, privacy, and ethical guidelines compliance.
Essentials
- Bachelor\'s Degree or Equivalent Years of Relevant Work Experience
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
- The ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
Preferred
- Master\'s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Typically requires 12 years of management experience.
- 10+ years of experience in designing and implementing large-scale software systems with a focus on AI/ML.
- Deep understanding of AI/ML concepts, algorithms, and frameworks with expertise in agentic systems and MCP.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their AI/ML services.
- Strong knowledge of data engineering (e.g., Spark, Beam, Kafka, Flink, Lakehouses, Delta).
- Experience with MLOps for model deployment, monitoring, and management including containerization and orchestration.
- Experience with RAG; frameworks, tools, fine-tuning, and integrating vector databases with LLMs.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience implementing AI standards including ethical and responsible AI practices.

Compensation and Benefits
Base Salary Range: from $208,000.00 - $312,000.00 with an annual target bonus of 20% of base salary. Actual pay will be based on skills, knowledge, education, and experience. Our benefits for the US can be found here.
