Overview Deputy Director Public Health - Programming and Development. The Health Department seeks a visionary and collaborative leader to guide the department’s strategy and mission, reporting to the Health Department Director and working with two other Deputy Directors to shape program direction and community impact. Open until filled. This is an unclassified position with a 1020 – Deputy Director Public Health classification and a salary range of $140,046 - $210,059 annually depending on qualifications and internal equity. Responsibilities Collaborate with the Director of Public Health to develop and implement strategic plans, goals, and objectives for the Public Health Department. Provide leadership in aligning departmental strategies with the organization’s overall mission and vision. Contribute to the development and implementation of public health policies, ensuring alignment with local, state, and federal regulations. Stay informed about emerging public health trends and research to inform policy decisions. Collaborate with Division Managers and Assistant Directors to ensure effective delivery of services and achievement of department, division, and programmatic goals. Represent the Public Health Department in community forums and engage with key stakeholders, including community organizations, healthcare providers, and local government agencies. Work collaboratively with the finance and grants management teams to develop and manage the departmental budget. Provide leadership and direction to departmental staff, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment. Foster professional development and mentorship opportunities for staff. Monitor key performance indicators and outcomes to assess department impact. Act as a lead in the incident command system response for public health emergencies.
