Deputy Director of Finance / Assistant Controller Our client is a Dallas headquartered organization growing to $3B that values collaboration and innovation. The newly created Deputy Director of Finance/Accounting role is for a highly motivated professional who will lead the finance accounting function and drive continuous improvement across the organization.
Base pay range: $150,000.00/yr – $250,000.00/yr
Reporting directly to the CFO, the Deputy Director will oversee the company’s financial activities including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, auditing, and financial operations. The role requires cross‑functional collaboration with Sales, Operations, Engineering, Product, Marketing, and Human Resources to impact financial reporting and key metrics. The Deputy Director will manage the monthly close process, develop financial policies and controls, create executive presentations, support external audit engagements and provide ad hoc analyses and projects as needed.
Oversee and lead the company’s financial activities including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, auditing, and financial operations
Collaborate cross‑functionally with teams including Sales, Operations, Engineering, Product, Marketing, and Human Resources on various initiatives impacting the financial reporting of the company including all financial metrics and KPI’s
Manage all aspects of the monthly close process including revenues, expenses, T&E, equity, taxes, as well as KPI’s and metrics
Develop and drive necessary financial policies, procedures, and internal controls, and play a leading role in directing change initiatives and process improvements
Create executive presentations of financial results for review with senior executives
Support external audit engagements including managing and coordinating with auditors and external service providers, and preparation/review of audited financial statements and footnote disclosures
Identify risks, implement controls, and maintain proper process documentation
Provide support for other ad hoc analyses and projects as needed
Skills/Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is a must, CPA preferred.
7+ years accounting experience out of Public Accounting or Private Accounting team is a plus.
Strong knowledge of Accounting System/system implementation
In‑depth experience working with general ledger and financial analysis, including journal entries and detailed account analyses.
Experience or interest in accounting for financial companies
