Chicago Methodist Senior Services - Chicago Methodist Senior Services is a nonprofit organization providing a continuum of programs and residences committed to empowering each person we serve to live their best life, while embracing the needs of a diverse and evolving community.   The current opportunity to join the team is at Hartwell Place, a program of CMSS.   Hartwell Place will be opening a day program that will offer the opportunity for individuals living with memory loss to spend the day in a compassionate, activity-rich environment.
POSITION SUMMARY
CMSS' Hartwell Place, located in Andersonville, is seeking a full-time team member (Tuesday- Friday, 7:30 am-6:00pm) to lead the opening of a day program focused on enriching the lives of older adults living with dementia in a compassionate, activity-rich environment.
T his is a great opportunity for someone creative, open to innovation, and eager to develop their skills as the program grows.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Build meaningful relationships with members, tailoring experiences to their needs
Foster a warm, emotionally supportive atmosphere
Ensure safety and prevent injury, especially during transitions and movement
Lead and coordinate enriching activities alongside Life Enrichment Coordinator
Assist with meals, honoring dietary preferences and promoting comfort
Provide hands-on support with daily living tasks: eating, dressing, toileting
Help assess suitability of new members for the program
Update leadership on member status and behavior changes
Communicate openly with families, sharing updates and progress
Manages the daily and weekly schedule of activities as well as member attendance
Maintains records and notes of each member of the day program

Calm under pressure, especially in emergencies
Organized in planning activities and maintaining documentation
Culturally sensitive, respectful of diverse backgrounds
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS and EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred background in caregiving or healthcare
Familiarity with dementia and person-centered care
CPR certification is a plus
Able to assist with physical mobility
