Day Camp Assistant Supervisor

Tahoe Donner Association is looking for a fun and personable Day Camp Assistant Supervisor to join our Day Camps Team! The Day Camp Assistant Supervisor is responsible for leading and supervising campers, as well as overseeing day-to-day operation of assigned camps and assisting the Day Camp Supervisor with supervising the Day Camp Leaders and Counselors. This position assists with year-end evaluations of Day Camp Leaders and Day Camp Counselors and corrective actions throughout the summer. The Day Camp Assistant Supervisor assists with camp programming of all camps, including daily schedules, rosters, themes, field trips, and beach days.

Essential functions include providing excellent customer service to members, guests, business partners, and employees; upholding Tahoe Donner Association's zero tolerance standard for sexual abuse and molestation; maintaining camp waivers for all camps; assisting with creation of programming schedules for all camps; encouraging parents to fill out comment cards at end of each camp session; responsible for collection of daily activity sheets at all camps, for all of sessions; assisting members and guests with information about Day Camps; maintaining current knowledge of, and implementing and enforcing Association rules, regulations, policies, and procedures; assisting Day Camp Supervisor in scheduling, sales reporting, staff reviews, payroll, etc.; participating in set-up and dismantling program props, signs, and other equipment as needed; maintaining camp area, supplies and equipment; clean, sweep, and mop all facilities used for camps; leading, supervising, and actively participating and evaluating assigned camp and recreation activities with children and young adults.

Qualifications

We are looking for the following qualifications: Demonstrates excellent communication and "people skills"; must love engaging and interacting with people. Team oriented ideals, willingness to work hard, and a desire to learn. Must be a high energy, self-starter, with keen interest and ability in outdoor adventure. Experience teaching or working with children 3 to 14 years of age. Demonstrated effective organizational skills. Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid certifications for infants, children and adults required. Current American Red Cross lifeguard certification recommended. Requires possession of valid class C driver license with a driving record meeting the minimum standards required by the Association insurance carrier. Commercial driver license with passenger endorsement and a driving record meeting the minimum standards required by the Association insurance carrier recommended. These skills and abilities are typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in recreation administration or related field plus two years relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of formal training, education and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform all of the duties of the position.
