Turion Space is building the autonomous infrastructure to operate and defend the in-space economy. From our DROID satellites that remove debris and inspect assets, to Starfire OS that enables autonomous space operations, to advanced propulsion and sensing technologies, we are solving some of the hardest problems in space. Our mission is to ensure that space remains usable, safe, and secure for generations to come. We are seeking an experienced and visionary Creative Director to join our leadership team. This role is a critical partner to the CEO, Business Development, Talent and Product teams, responsible for building Turion’s in-house creative function, defining a cohesive brand system, and scaling content output to support rapid growth. The Creative Director will lead brand strategy, creative execution, and storytelling and will turn complex space technology into a clear, compelling, and globally recognizable brand that drives awareness, customer engagement, and long-term category leadership. Key Responsibilities: Build the Function Organize and expand Turion’s creative team and a trusted vendor bench.
Define operating model, creative process, intake → brief → scope → review → ship cadence, and SLAs that keep velocity high.
Own the Brand System Establish and maintain a unified brand identity: Visuals, voice, templates, and guidelines.
Ensure consistency across all surfaces: web, GTM campaigns, product marketing, recruiting, events, and exec communications.
Player-Coach Execution Concept, art direct, write, storyboard, and ship high-stakes assets for launches, investor moments, partner/customer narratives.
Lead integrated campaigns with Growth/PMM across LPs, paid social/display, short-form video, and sales enablement.
Measure & Evolve Partner with BD, Operations, and Talent on testing, content velocity, and template adoption.
Audit quality and consistency; adapt the system based on performance data.
Scale the Team Propose headcount roadmap, org model (central vs. embedded pods), tooling/DAM, and budget as our surface area grows.
Mentor and develop direct reports into high-output operators.
Basic Qualifications: 8+ years in brand/creative roles with 3+ years leading small, high-output teams in startups or high-growth companies.
Proven zero-to-one builder who has stood up or rebuilt an in-house creative function, shipped a brand system, and operationalized templates/process.
Portfolio blending system + storytelling: identity systems, integrated campaigns, web surfaces, short-form video/motion, and copy.
Hands-on craft in at least 2 of: visual design (Figma/Adobe CC), copywriting/messaging, video/motion (shoot/edit).
Operator mindset: intake/traffic, SLAs, budgets, prioritization, and exec alignment.
Data-curious: experience partnering on creative tests and evolving concepts based on performance.
Strong cross-functional chops: partnered with Growth, PMM, Sales, Product, and Execs to land narratives.
Preferred Qualifications: Track record of growing a brand to national or global recognition (brand tracker lift, major earned media, or large-scale campaign results).
Deeptech/aerospace/defense storytelling experience.
Creative Ops literacy (DAM, vendor management, accessibility/QA).
Web & performance creative expertise (LPs, paid variants, short-form optimization).
Employer brand/recruiting creative for high-growth engineering orgs.
Comfort with high ambiguity and tight cycles; bias toward ship, learn, iterate.
Creative Director: $140,000 - $180,000 ITAR Requirements: This position may include access to technology and/or software source code that is subject to U.S. export controls. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
