The Creative Director will oversee a team of 5 creatives and be responsible for all graphic assets across the organization including packaging, company style guide, art direction for various sub-brands / divisions, digital and traditional marketing support, and retail / consumer communications. Provide leadership and direction for all phases of creative development work from concept to completion. Design and implement policies and standards that reinforce the organization's branding strategy and goals. Promote design excellence and creative strategy across all product lines. Interpret stakeholder requirements to produce effective creative concepts and designs, create briefs and align design outputs to meet the organizations business objectives. Stay current with trends and technologies to adopt the most effective tools and techniques across all media. In addition to being a strong communicator and talented graphic artist, this person will also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. This role requires some travel.

Essential Duties Responsibilities
Lead our branding, marketing, product production and video production asset creation team.
Oversee maintenance and improvement of overall company style / brand guide(s).
Drive a collaborative process to distill our brand strategy into compelling visual assets.
Develop unique and original ideas that artistically align our brand strategy with specific deliverable needs throughout the company, including sales presentations, advertisements, PR, convention graphics, company templates, product photoshoots, etc.
Build and mentor a creative organization that recruits, hires and develops outstanding artists to support global graphic needs.
Oversee video production from start to finish in conjunction with on-staff videographer.
Contribute to product creation and ideation process via concept sketches and product renderings.
Establish processes to keep the team creatively inspired, energetic, and focused on priorities.
Identify, engage and manage contractors / external resources as needed (photographers, freelance designers, etc.)
Research and identify new tools, technologies and processes (including AI) to continuously develop the teams skills and improve the teams quality and output.
Clearly organize and manage department workload, balance workload and create / maintain SOPs to ensure consistency across processes.
Launch and oversee digital asset management tools as necessary.
Occasional domestic and international travel for expos, conventions and other business needs.
Guide and support various international partners at appropriate local hours.
Execute special projects as requested by the department VP.
Other duties, as assigned, by supervisor or management.
Competencies/Personal Characteristics
Talented graphic artist
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong daily work schedule and task completion discipline
Passion for sports, trading cards and collectibles a strong plus
Self-starter who is able to work with minimal direction and supervision
Demonstrate good judgment and escalate practical matters to management when necessary.
Education/Experience Requisites
Bachelors degree in related coursework
10+ years of experience developing creative campaigns in an Art Director / Sr Designer capacity
5+ years of leadership and people management
A diverse portfolio of projects showcasing resonant experiences across a variety of audiences and platforms both B2B and B2C
Fluency in key visual art software such as Adobe Creative Suite, etc.
Current in latest consumer product styles, design trends and sustainable packaging
Expertise with social media, digital marketing and online engagement
