Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Finance Director to lead financial planning, analysis, and decision support for our commercial and margin expansion operations. This senior role will partner closely with Sales and Commercial Product teams and Business Presidents to drive revenue growth, improve profitability, and support long-term strategic objectives, as well as support the Business Presidents to drive margin expansion initiatives using vertical integration and continuous improvement projects. The ideal candidate brings a strong commercial and operational mindset, deep financial acumen, and excellent business partnering skills. This role also includes oversight of engineering projects and activities (non-production) and the related economic modeling and life-cycle profitability analysis.
Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting for all commercial functions (Sales, Marketing, Product).
Partner with commercial leaders to evaluate and optimize pricing strategies, customer/SKU-level profitability, and go-to-market investments.
Provide actionable insights through financial modeling, scenario analysis, and business performance reporting.
Lead the development of a cross-functional quoting process for NPD, NPI, manufacturing transfer, etc. programs, including the design and development of standardized quoting models. Support strategic initiatives such as market expansion, channel development, and product launches with financial analysis and ROI assessments.
Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), sales metrics, and marketing ROI.
Lead the development of business cases for new investments, strategic partnerships, and customer deals.
Oversee the preparation of weekly/monthly/quarterly commercial reporting packages and presentations for executive leadership.
Establish/Enhance Credit Policies – Define and implement credit terms for customers, in collaboration with sales
Develop and maintain financial dashboards and tools to support commercial decision-making.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and impact of commercial finance activities.
Drive analysis and validation of Vertical Integration and Continuous Improvement Projects returns and prioritization of projects pipeline
Integrate SIOP into Financial Forecasting process.
Support supply chain transformation initiatives.
Manage and develop finance teams across commercial and operation domains.
Foster cross-functional collaboration with operations, procurement, logistics, sales, and IT.
Represent finance in cross-departmental projects and executive-level discussions.
Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
10+ years of progressive experience in financial planning & analysis (FP&A), with at least 3–5 years in a commercial or operational finance leadership role.
Proficient in core GAAP principles, specifically revenue recognition principles under ASC 606.
Experience in project based accounting and financial analysis for engineering services, including but not limited to new product development, new product implementation and manufacturing transfer activities.
Strong understanding of sales operations, pricing, and marketing economics.
Strong understanding of cost accounting, specifically standard cost and Bill of Material (BOM) process and methodology.
Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and drive strategic decision-making.
Advanced financial modeling and Excel skills.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Strong leadership skills with experience managing and mentoring teams of at least three or more individuals
Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time effectively
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong demonstrated commitment to teamwork.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a life sciences or medical device contract manufacturing is preferred
Proven track record of driving business performance through financial insights.
Experience working in a high-growth or global organization.
